Adam Heim

Adam Heim, the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Heim was born August 1, 1856 in Hazelgreen, Wisconsin, and departed from this life January 4th, 1937 at the age of 80 years, five months and three days.

He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Ziegenfuss in Mount Carmel, Iowa in 1882. To this union were born nine children---four sons and five daughters.

    Mr. and Mrs. Heim lived at Salem, South Dakota on their homestead until 1901, when they moved to Westphalia, Kansas. In 1911 they moved to Western Kansas onto a farm southeast of Dresden where they lived until 1915. They then, moved to Leoville where they have resided until the death of Mrs. Heim on April 17, 1930 after which he made his home with his children.

He was preceded in death by his wife and three children. Mrs. Anthony [Elenora] Kleinsorge at the age of fifty, Magdalena at the age of twenty and Joseph in early childhood. Those left to mourn his loss are Mrs. Anna Berls, Mr. Anthony Heim, Mrs. Frank [Mary] Meitl, Mr. John Heim, Mrs. Joseph [Minnie] Zimmerman, Mr. William Heim, fifty grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, many other relatives and friends.

    Funeral Services were held at the Immaculate Conception Church at Leoville on January 7th, Rev. Martin J. Schmidt officiating. He was borne to Mt. Calvary Cemetery by six of his grandchildren---John Kleinsorge, Joseph, Edward, and Albert Berls, Philip Meitl and Julius Heim.
