Charley Wilson

Funeral services for Charley Wilson, 83, of Oberlin, were December 22,
[1959] at Selden Methodist Church. Burial was in the Dresden Cemetery.

Wilson died December 19th at the St. Francis [Cheyenne Co. Kansas] rest
home after a long illness. He was born October 7, 1876 [in Thayer Co.
NE]. He came to Decatur County with his parents in 1882 from Hebron,
Nebraska. He spent all his life, except the last seven months, on a farm
12 miles south of Oberlin.

He is survived by 2 brothers, Lee of the home and John of Oberlin; 2
sisters, Mrs. Vina [Lavina] Jackson [Kilgore, NE] and Mrs. Ada Johnston
of Cope, Colorado; also a number of nieces and nephews.

[Civil War pension records of Robert D. Wilson show Charles' year of
birth as 1878; the 1880 Thayer Co. NE census record indicates the same;
the 1900 Decatur Co. census shows 1878.]
