CLARA ASKINS ROBERTS, aged 99 years, 5 months passed away at 2:30 a.m. March 14, 1995 at Milder Manor, in Lincoln, Nebraska
Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley F. Roberts in February, 1985.  She is survived by daughter and son-in-law Velora F. and Robert E. Simon of Citrus Heights, California and daughter and son-in-law Martha J. and Robert W. McDermand of Brevard, North Carolina.
Also surviving are 8 grand children, 11 great grandchildren and one great, great grandson, as well as nieces and nephews.
CLARA ASKINS, born October 10, 1895 near Oberlin, Kansas, was the last of 8 children born to Martha Ann Morton and John Young Askins. Prior to her marriage Clara taught for a brief time in a country school in Kansas.
Homemaking was her main job in life, and she was a good mother, loyal, helpful wife and a great cook. Clara had a "green thumb" and enjoyed her gardens of vegetables and flowers.
Except for a few years in Ashland, Nebraska, where they raised chickens as well as food and flowers, most of their years were spent in University Place.
Clara was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church and had many friends in Sunday School and Women's Groups in the church.
Stanley was associated with Safeway Stores in Lincoln for many years, as manage and price inspector.
Roper Mortuary will provide the services, visitation ws from 5 PM March 16 until noon March 18th. Graveside services will be at Wyuka Cemetery at 1 PM March 18th with Rev. Dr. Henry Beatty officiating.
