David Gibson BELL

David Gibson Bell, was born in Utica, Ohio, February 15th 1849. Moved
to Indiana and from there to Decatur county, Kansas, in 1884, settling on a
homestead in Logan township. He sold this farm in 1906 and moved to Cheyenne
county, Kans. where he lived many years but finally moved some three years ago
to Arkansas, but stayed there less than a year when he came back and has made
his home in Oberlin since that time.
His death on February 2nd was unexpected as he had not been sick, but
when stricken by the grim monster passed quietly away; aged 68 years, 11 months,
and 17 days.
Mr. Bell had been a member of the Christian church for many years and was a
consistent christian man and ever willing to
do what he could for the bettering of the
community in which he lived.
He leaves to mourn his passing on, one daughter, Mrs. Harry McClaury, and
several grandchildren and numerous friends, for he was a man that had no
enemies.
The
funeral was held at the residence of Harry McClaury on Sunday, funeral sermon by
Rev. Grant Mann, after which he was laid to rest
beside his wife, who died a year ago. Thus passes to his final reward of
our oldest and most respected citizens, May he rest in peace.
