HERNDON -- DEWEY C. HILL died Thursday (July 4, 1996) at the Cedar Living Center in Oberlin.  He was 72 years old.

Dewey was born Aug. 27, 1923, to Hervie and Anna (Johnston) Hill.   He attended country school at the Achilles Township and graduated from the Decatur County High School in Oberlin in 1941.

Dewey was a World War II Navy Veteran serving his county from 1943 to 1946.  Dewey was a long time resident of Herndon where he worked as a plumber and city superintendent of roads and streets during his working years.

Dewey was united in marriage to Minnie Marie Ebert on July 14, 1958 at Beaver City.  Preceding him in death were his parents, and wife, Minnie, in August 1992.

Survivors include his children, Terry D. Hill and wife, Tonya, and Jeanner A. Faimon and husband, Michael, all of McCook; five grandchildren, Nathaniel and Amanda Hill, and Mikalla, Nicole, and Steven Faimon of McCook; a brother Duane Hill of Bull Shoals, Ark; three sisters Iva Lee O'Grady of Cimarron, Kan.; Twila Beam of Wichita, Kan, and Roberta Bartleson of Augusta, Kan; four step-children, Judy Kay Malleck, Homer R. Ford, David A Ford, and Cheryl Sue Meyer; and other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at Williams Funeral Home Chapel in ATwood with the Rev. Kirk Smothers officiating. Visitation will be Sunday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

nterment will be at the Achilles Cemetery in Achilles Township.  Memorials may be addressed to the Dewey C. Hill Memorial Fund.

Williams Funeral Home of Atwood is in charge of the arrangements.
