John A. [Alexander] Wilson, son of Robert and Nancy Wilson, was born in
Decatur County on July 31, 1887.

He died May 15, 1975 at Good Samaritan Center, Oberlin, Kan., at the age
of 87 years and 10 months.

His entire life was spent in Decatur County. He served in the armed
forces in World War I.

He was united in marriage to Irene R. Headly on May 25, 1918. To this
union six children were born including a son, Clifford, who died in
infancy. Mrs. Wilson died in 1970.

Survivors include two sons, Lyle, Denver, Loyl, Oberlin; 3 daughters,
Mrs. Thersa Pope, Hoxie, Mrs. Loris Hay, Auburn, Calif., and Mrs. Lena
Clinger, Houston, Tex.; 11 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; two
daughters-in-law and sons-in-law.

He was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Mrs. Ada Johnston and Mrs. Lavina
Jackson and 4 brothers, Jake, Charley, Frank and Lee. He was the last
surviving member of his family.
