MILLARD E. JOHNSTON, son of Robert and Jennie Johnston, was born October 4, 1898, at Oberlin, Kansas.  He died at his home in Raytown, Missouri August 9, 1965, at the age of 66 years, 10 months and 5 days.  He grew to manhood on his father's farm and received his education in the schools of Decatur County.  For a number of years he did mechanical and electrical work in Oberlin.  In 1921 he was married to Mae Cathcart.  They had one son, Dean.

He and his family moved to Florida in 1925, where they resided several years before moving to Kansas City, Missouri.  In Kansas City he obtained employment with the Kansas City Power and Light Co. and worked as a machinist for 33 years.

He was married to Sarah Martin February 18, 1939.  He was a kind and loving husband and father.  He had been in failing health for several years.  Medical science and loving hands were of no avail against the disease that took his life.  He was a member of the Christian Church at Raytown, Missouri, and lived a consistent life in the fellowship of his Master.

He was preced in death by his parents, one sister, Orpha, and one brother, Oren.  He leaves his widow, Sarah; his son, Dean and his wife and son Travis of Houston, Texas (LaPorte); two sisters, Mrs. Anna Hill and Mrs. Nick (Josephine) Bosler of Oberlin; one brother, Marvin Johnston of Cope, Colorado; two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law, several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
