Mrs. Robert D. Wilson (Jackson)
The Oberlin Herald, December 14, 1916

Nancy E. Wilson [daughter of David C. and Hannah (Blackburn) Jackson]
was born in Monroe Co. Indiana, July 6, 1849, and departed this life
December 4, 1916, age 67 years, 5 months and 28 days, She was married to
Robert D. Wilson August 5, 1869. To this union was born twelve children,
five of which died in infancy. Jake, Charles, Frank, John, and Lee are
all single and living at home; Ada Johnston, living near Selden, Kansas,
and Lavina Jackson, another daughter living near Chesterfield, Nebraska,
the only child who could not be present when the fond mother passed
away.

Mr. and Mrs. Wilson are among the early settlers of this county, and
endured all the hardships of pioneer life. She had been a faithful
member of the Christian Church for a number of years. Her friends are
numbered only by her acquaintances.

She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a good neighbor, and a friend
to everybody. For several years she had been suffering from a
complication of diseases, but she was a patient sufferer until the death
angel came to take her home where suffering is no more.

She leaves to mourn her untimely departure, a husband, seven children,
six grandchildren, four sisters: Mrs. Sarah Hosier of McCook, Nebraska,
Mrs. George [Letitia] Wall of Topeka, Kansas, Mrs. Laura Thompson of
Kansas City, Kansas, and Mrs. Ella [Malissa Ellen] Hinkley of Long
Beach, California; and one brother, Mr. Benjamin Jackson of Wichita,
besides cousins, nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The funeral
was preached by Rev. F. J. Foster of Dresden, at the Shibboleth Church
at 2 p.m. [Dec. 6] text Luke 8:52. Interment was made in the Shibboleth
Cemetery.

We join with the whole community in heartfelt sympathy.
