Services for Runette Johnston, 52, of Lubbock will
be at 4 p.m. today at Sanders Memorial Chapel with Ken Miller of Sunset Church
of Christ officiating, assisted by Bruce Logue.
Burial will follow at the Cope Community Cemetery in Cope, Colo., under
direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She died at 2:20 a.m. Tuesday (June 4, 1985) in Lubbock General Hospital after
an illness.
She was born in Abilene. She graduated from Abilene Christian University in
1953 and received her master's degree from East Texas State University.
She married Keith E. Johnston on May 31, 1955, in Abilene, moving to Lubbock
in 1972. She worked as a librarian for Lubbock Christian College for 5-1/2
years, and as librarian for Lubbock Public Schools for the past seven years.
Survivors include her husband Keith; two sons, James D. of Hayden, Colo, and
Bruce A of Lubbock; mother T. L. Plowman of Abilene; one brother Travis Scott
Plowman of Norfold, Va; and two grandsons.
