WAYNE MORTON SCHMAHL, son of George and Cora (Morton) Schmahl, was born July 1, 1919, at Rexford. He died June 30, 1995 at Clinton, ARK, at the age of 75.
He was a veteran of World War II, where he served as an Air Force night fighter pilot and was a retired cattleman. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Velora (Rogers) Schmahl, Clinton, Ark.; two daughters, Jean Vader, Golden, Colo., and Janeale Corder, McCook, Neb; a brother John SChmahl, Grand Junction, Colo., a sister, Muriel Thomas, Englewood, Colo., and five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roller McNutt Chapel in Clinton, Ark. Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Oberlin Cemetery with the Rev. Michael Keating officiating. Pauls Funeral Home, Oberlin-Selden, is in charge of local arrangements. There is no visitation.
