I am trying to find information on my father's family line. I know that his father's name was Gene Clark. He married Virginia Moore. My father's name is Kervin Dean Clark he also has a twin brother named Kevin Gene Clark.  My father married my mother veronica Villalva. I believe all these marriages took place in Finney County KS. I was hoping to find the names and birthplaces of Gene's parents and maybe their parents as Well. I do know that my grandfather Gene is buried in the cemetery in Garden City out on the highway by Towns Riverview. Any and all help would be very helpful.

My mother, Gladys Hard is buried there, then an unused space for my father, next to him is Alga Hard. I believe the person I am trying to track is buried either right next to Alga or very close to her. The last name is Brown. the wife perhaps Florence died in approx. 1891 her husband later.

WHITE
Marilyn Conte (DoonRock@msn.com) 07 July, 2003
I am trying to locate the Naturalization Records for what I believe to be my great-grandfather, Charles M. White, age 47, listed on "First Naturalization Record A, Finney County KS, Intentions" on Sept, 1887.  I recently ordered this document by Frances (Wheller) Embree, Garden City KS through our local library but it lists only the page number, name , age, country, and year. I also found a C. White on the 1880 Douglas County , Nebraska Census, but the family is listed only by their fist initials (with the exception of a child, "Alexander" who would possibly be my grandfather). Once I am    certain that this Charles M. White is my great-grand father, I wish to travel to Kansas and Nebraska to do additional research.

BURNSIDE
Alan Booton (alanhomer@aol.com) 04 July, 2003
My wife's great grandfather, J. H. Burnside is mentioned in the on-line history of Finney County as being one of the larger cattle ranchers in the late 1800's. We are looking fro any information , a gravesite, some relation still in the county, or just anything about him and his family. We have in our possession an engraved cup from his Civil War reunion that well be 100 years old this September. The cup was engraved to his daughter Emma who when married became a Clark. He fought in an Indiana Regiment and moved to KS after the war. This tells us he passed away after 1903, but other than his unit's history. My wife has a photo of J. H. and his wife, (who's name we do not know), we have found very little else.
