Red Top Cemetery

 

SE Corner of Section 6 Township 13 Range 26

This cemetery is eight miles south of Quinter on the west side of Castle Rock road.

Michael J. and Susanna Frantz deeded to the German Baptist Church of Quinter, Isaac Studebaker, A.H. Hamm, Jonathan Frantz, Gotleib Roesch, Benjamin Ikenberry and their successors as trustees January 6, 1888, one square acre in the SE corner of 6-13-26 to be used for a cemetery free for any or all persons wishing to use the same for cemetery purposes without regard to sect or creed. There was a very active Sunday School and church service program being carried on at the Red Top Schoolhouse at this time.

This information was gathered and filed in the Gove County Register of Deeds Office in May 1986.
