Memorial services for Marvin R. THRUSH were held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2000 at the Umapine Seventh Day Adventist Church in Milton-Freewater, Oregon. Mr. THRUSH, 93, of Milton-Freewater, died Sunday, October 1, 2000, at Heritage House Adult Foster Care Center.

He was born February 14, 1907, at Hill City, Kansas, to Abraham and Sarah MAXON THRUSH. He lived on the homeplace in western Kansas until his marriage to Maggie KALLENBACH in 1928, when he moved to Portland, Oregon. In 1930 they settled at Hillsboro, Oregon, where he did some farming, odd jobs, and eventually became a contractor, building some 100 houses.
> His wife, Maggie, died in 1986. In 1997 he moved to Coquille, to live with his daughter, Marie, and her husband, Allen JOHNSON. In October, 1999, he moved to Heritage House in Milton-Freewater.

Survivors include his daughter, Marie JOHNSON of Milton-Freewater; grandson, Michael HURLEY of Portland; granddaughters, Patti SPILKER and Monica NORTON, both of Pendleton; Mardee BRENNAN and Penny GALAMBOS, both of Portland and six great-grandchildren. Other relatives surviving include Helen (Mrs. Don) PALMER of Salem, Oregon, who is a daughter of Marvin THRUSH's brother, Max THRUSH. Both of the men were half-brothers to the late Elmer THRUSH of Hill City. Mrs. PALMER is also the daughter of Alta (Dean) THRUSH MARSHALL, a sister of former Hill City resident Edna (Dean) HARRELL SNYDER, now of Hays.
