I am researching the family of Willard P. and Polly P. Nance who moved from Missouri to Harper County, Kansas in the late 1900's. They had eight children. Willard had a sister who was in Oklahoma at the time. Both moved to the Kansas/Oklahoma area at the same time. Any assistance would be appreciated.

DAVIS I was able to find out Rev. Claud K. DAVIS's wife was Lola SEXTON, daughter of William Leonidas SEXTON and his first wife Julia, of Wichita. Would like to know if there are other descendants of this marriage.

My greatgrandfather James Hoath was listed in the 1885 Anthony Census. Can anyone out there give me more information. I'd also like information on Leonidas Carson, my gg grandfather. I think he moved to Anthony from Ohio around 1885 or so. One of his daughters was Hannah Heiser who married J.C. Stockfleth 11/11/1886. Thanks.

Looking for W. E. Palmer, my grgrandfather, and his son Preston (possibly Hugh Preston) who lived in Harper, KS in late 20's Saw Preston listed on Genealogy's Most Wanted listing but unable to contact the submitter of the query to determine if we're talking about the same person.. I'm trying to trace my grandfather Samuel William Palmer's father and siblings. I have a picture of W. E. taken in Harper in 1928. One of Sam's sisters married a preacher, A.I.Berry, from Indiana. Sam and many of his siblings were born in or near Winchester, KY.

I am searching for the families of William A. JONES and Julia (Potter) JONES. William A. JONES b. abt 1835-36 TN, Julia (Potter) JONES, daugther of Uriah POTTER, b. 1840 IL, married 1 Aug 1861 Hancock Co. IL. They moved to Lane, Franklin Co. KS by 1885 (census). Then moved to Odell Twp. by 1900 (census), and were living with their son John JONES and wife (looks like Mila). The known children of William A. and Julia were: Thomas Uriah(?) JONES b. 1862 IL; Helena E. JONES b. abt 1868 IL; John JONES b. Dec 1875 IL; Oscar James JONES b. abt 1876 IL. My ancestors THOMAS ORR, his wife ELECTRA IRENE ORR; their son, ALPHA OMEGA ORR & his family came to HARPER COUNTY in 1883 from CHRISTIAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS. ALPHA had a homestead in LAKE TOWNSHIP; Section 4 from 1884 until I believe 1887. Adjacent to this land on its east edge was land owned by F.B. WILCOX, either his father or brother-in-law? Definitely one or the other. Alpha kept leaving and returning but his parents died there in 1897 & both are buried in FOREST PARK CEMETERY. Other family members also settled in MANCHESTER, GRANT COUNTY, OKLAHOMA (ORRs & COTTERILLs) where they died off by the mid 1960's or so. They are also connected to the PIKE COUNTY, ILLINOIS ORRs; HARDIN COUNTY, OHIO COTTERILLs & CHRISTIAN COUNTY, ILLINOIS WILCOXs.

I am looking for my Grandfather Rev. Harrison Harper who was born in Paulding Ohio but came to Topeka Kansas where he died. He was only in his fifties. He was married to Mary Blair (maiden name(. The two of them had six children; Elva, Elma; Mary; Milo; Harry Leyon; and Claudine who died as a baby. My father was Harry Leyon. I have found roots in Kansas City, MO also. Does anyone have info??

Anyone researching the Cyrus M. Wyrick family of Attica, Harper Co, KS this is an update to my email address. Old email <mebateman@home.com new email<mebateman@cox.net . Cyrus was born 1857 in Grainger Co, TN. His parents were Jeremiah and Anna ( Coffman )Wyrick married 1838 Grainger Co, TN. Grainger was rearranged and the area they lived in became Union Co TN. Cyrus was bound out to the J.C. Baker family when Cyrus was about 10. He moved to KS in his 20's and married a Catherine Bracker. Thank you.
