Jarrett, Joseph - (Burrton).  Joseph Jarrett enlisted as private in Co. G 75th Indiana, afterward Corporal.  Served three years; in battles of Chicamauga, Missionary Ridge, Peachtree Creek, Jonesboro, Rocky Face Ridge, Resaca, Kenesaw Mountain, and Savanah, and with Sherman through Georgia.  (Our Old Soldiers, written by A. Perry, G.A.R., published in the Burrton Monitor, Friday February 10, 1882.  Page 2).

Johns, E - (Burrton).  E. Johns enlisted as a private in July, 1862, in Co. C 78th Indiana volunteers; served two months and while on picket duty the pickets were all driven in and the whole command captured by Gen. John Morgan's army and paroled and sent home.  (Our Old Soldiers, written by A. Perry, G.A.R., published in the Burrton Monitor, Friday February 3, 1882.  Page 2).  "E. Johns who has had charge of so many improvements in our city in the past, has with the commencement of the new year commenced another building boom.  He has one residence south of W. H. Wilson's almost ready for occupancy and has broken ground, just across the street from J. E. Howards, for another, which will be occupied by his mother."  (The Burrton Monitor, Burrton, Kansas.  Friday, January 25, 1884.  Page 3). 

Judkins, Richard - (Burrton).  Richard Judkins enlisted as private in Co. L 27th Illinois Infantry.  Served three years and three months, was in battles at Belmont, Island No 10, Corinth, Stone River, Chicamauga, Mission Ridge, Knoxville, and all the engagements of Gen. Shermans' command from Chatanooga to Atlanta.  Was wounded in left leg at Stone River.  (Our Old Soldiers, written by A.
