Topic: Cornelius Dyson and Family
From: Dennis Mcindoo dmcindoo@email.msn.com
Date: Friday, December 01, 2000 10:55 PM

After much searching I have finally found Cornelius Dyson and wife Rebecca. They were accidently found as I was looking for other McIndoo family members. Cornelius was thought to have gone to Kansas about 1880, but at that time we thought Topeka. Well, he showed up in Burr Oak Township, Jewell County in the Kansas Census of 1900. We did not know of a marriage or children but the following will tell you what I know of Cornelius and family through the census.

Cornelius Dyson b. Feb 1846, age 54, married 27 years, born in Illinois

Wife is Rebecca ? Dyson b. Aug 1854, married 27 years, born in Iowa. Father born in Ohio, and mother born in North Carolina. She was mother of 5 children, four living.

Ross C. Dyson, son, age 24, b. June 1878, in Kansas

Bernard R. Dyson, son, age 19, b. Apr. 1881, in Kansas

Robert B. Dyson, son, age 13, b. Aug 1886, in Kansas

Frank W. Dyson, son, age 7, b. July 1892, in Kansas

At this time this is as much as we have on the family and we are searching hard to find further info on this family. We don't have Rebecca's maiden name and date and place where she and Cornelius were married. We don't have any further dates or places of the children concerning marriages descendents, deaths, etc. Any info as small as it may be would really be appreciated. It turns out that Cornelius was a 1st cousin once removed of my great grandfather, James Edward McIndoo, who also lived in Highland Township, Jewell County. They could not have been too many miles apart, but as of yet have not found any info that they knew each other. Thanks!!

Dennis McIndoo
