COMER, CHRISTY, DAVIS

The main person I am looking for is Mary Comer Christy Davis.  She was alive in the 1880 census and the name she was listed under was Davis.  Her maiden name was Mary Comer and she was born in Ohio in the early 1800's.  She married  William Christy in Bartholomew County, Indiana in 1833.  They had several children while in Indiana, then moved to Davis County, Iowa in the 1850's.  William Christy died in Davis County.  Mary then married a John Davis.  She moved to Kansas with her husband, John Davis, and several of her Christy children.  I believe she is buried in the Vance cemetery, about 3 miles from Mound Valley, Kansas.  I visited that cemetery several years ago, searching for her grave, and found it had been vandalized, and did not find a stone for her.  The cemetery was nearly destroyed.  I haven't been able to find a death record for her.  She may have been known as Polly Davis at the time of her death.  Sure wish I could find an obit and such other information such as family for her. Joyce Comer

NEIGHBOUR, PLANCK

My great grandfather and his family moved to Parsons in or about the late 1870's.  My grandfather graduated from High School there and met his wife there.  He and she were married in 1895 in South Carolina.  We have been trying to locate information about her family.

My great grandfather was William Webster Neighbour.  My Grandfather was Robert Edward Neighbour.  He married Nellie Planck.  Her father was a Doctor Planck who was either an apothecary or medical doctor.  The family lore is that he once treated Jessie James at gunpoint after he was shot in a robbery.  I have located Dr. Planck in New Jersey in 1880 but he moved to Parsons shortly after his Pharmacy burned down in New Jersey.  Still, I would like to see if you have any information about him or when he died or if he moved away.  His other daughters, Nellie's sisters, were an Opera singer and a music teacher in Parsons, so I am told.

Any information you have would be helpful.  Oh, they attended the First Baptist Church.  WW Neighbour was one of the founders.

Thank you, Pastor Paul Neighbour
MCALLISTER, MARLIN

I am searching for information concerning the descendants of Ethan Allen Marlin and Ida Mae McAllister.  They were married on October 16, 1893 in Frontier County Nebraska but were residents of Parsons, Labette County, Kansas by 1894.

Although they had several children, I only have the name of one.  May Belle Marlin was born at Parsons, Labette County, Kansas in 1894.

I will reciprocate with information about the Marlin family.

I am John Attebery's daughter, and am looking for a copy of his last Will.  His birthdate was 9/1/1908.  Thanks for your help.

SMITH

I did have ancestors who lived in Labette for many years and would have much to contribute.

They were Smith's, of all names.  Have spent many years researching them and have found many moved to and lived in Labette, Parsons City.  The death certificate of my g-grandmother was listed with the address of 2416 Broadway, 3rd ward.  Would you have any idea if this area is still there ?  She died in 1920, and I feel sure some of her grandchildren may still live in the area.

RILEY, ROBBINS

Looking for information on Milo Henry Riley. Born 1842? in Schuyler County, Illinois. Served in the Civil War with the 50th Infantry,
Company "E". I have information that says he ended up and died in Chetopa, Labette Kansas in 1883. He was married to Zelpha Robbins. I've run into a brick wall and I'd love that one piece of information that would help me to keep going.
Thanks.
Tara Jasper

Cook", he is  listed in the 1920 census as a widower living with his son James and his wife in Labette Township. His wife Sarah A. may have also died in Labette County sometime before 1920.
