Old Neighbors Heard From

The following to Mrs. Wait from Mrs. Cora Wales Cheney with a request that it be furnished both Lincoln papers for publication. It will certainly be read with interest by all our old-time citizens.

Aug. 6, 1915

Dear Mrs. Wait: As yesterday was Old Settlers Day in Skagit county, the Lincoln friends thought a picnic was the proper thing as there are so many visitors here from home now.
We went to the park with well filled baskets and had a feast with just 60 at our table. We certainly had a great time and wished you could have come with us. The day was perfect and Mrs. Marshall did the proper thing with her big auto. The following is a list of Kansas people who were present:

Cogswell and wife and son, Ed Crowe, Mrs. Carter Webb, Mrs. Elizabeth Doolittle, David Parker and wife Robert Parker and son, Mrs. Hutch Farley, Wint Doolittle and wife Ezra Doolittle and wife, Mrs. C. Ingham, Mrs. Jennie Ingham, Fr. Doolittle and two children, Hiram Hammer and wife, E. Hammer and wife and two children, Frank Parker, Mrs. Geo. Green, Harry Ingham and wife, Mrs. Cora Cheney, Mrs. May West and child, Geo. Kan and wife and son, Arth Strong, J.L. Nelson, Dena Cleary Smith, Bellingham, Geo. Crosby, Barnard, Ed Prickett, Bull Foot, Henry Thompson and wife, Wichita, Mrs. W. Banks Love, Abilene, and Mrs. F. Farnsworth Guhr and daughter of Montana.
