Obituary of EDITH LAMOINE SCHARENBERG COLLINGE
Edith Lamoine Scharenberg Collinge, 99, died Feb. 17, 2000, at her home in Branson, Mo. The daughter of Fred and Mary (Pierce) Scharenberg, she was born March 22, 1900, in Marion County.

She married Floyd Elmer Collinge on April 3, 1918. He died Sept. 13, 1955. They lived in and near Emporia from 1919 until 1935, where they were engaged in farming. Their five children were born in the Emporia area. After leaving Emporia, they lived near Marion for four years, Williamsburg for four years, and near Ottawa for four years, before moving into the city of Ottawa for several years.

When Floyd died, they were living in Lawrence. After her husband's death, Edith moved to Marion and lived with her mother, Mary Schrenberg and sister Mabel Byram, until her mother died. The sisters continued to live together for 22 years.

Edith moved to Branson, Mo., in 1986, to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Gladys and F. L. Lemley. She was well taken care of during the last years of her life.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ since the time her family lived in Emporia.

Collinge is the last member of the Fred Scharenberg family to die. She was preceded in death by her brother, Joe, and two sisters, Myrtle Scott and Mabel Byram. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; two sons, Kenneth and Clifford.

Survivors include three daughters, Audrey Singleton, Topeka, Gladys Lemley, Branson, Mo., and Juanita Fleenor, Hammond, Ill.; 14 grandchildren; 24 
great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held Monday afternoon at the Flint Hills Christian Church, Emporia. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery, Emporia.
