Obituary of MARVIN GILES
Marvin Giles, 91, died Feb. 11, 2000, at Blackwell, Okla. Formerly of Marion, he was born April 27, 1908, at Homestead, Fla., where he grew to manhood.

In 1924 he moved to Hennessey, Okla., to work in a cafe. He then began working for the Rock Island railroad, and eventually for the Santa Fe where he was a machine operator for 35 years prior to his retirement.

He married Lena Janzen, Oct. 27, 1978, at Haysville and they settled in the Blackwell area where his hobby was raising tomatoes.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Blackwell.

Survivors include his wife, Lena, of Blackwell; daughter, Jeanette Bina and her husband, Bob, Lincolnville; step-daughter, Opal Janzen, Billings, Okla.; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and by two sons, Robert and Coy Giles.

Services were held Monday with burial in Waco Cemetery. Casket bearers were Byron Bina, Dustin Bina, Don Blimm, John Purdy, Gale Doyle, and Jim Kranz.

Memorials have been established in his name with the VFW and American Legion auxiliaries in Ponca City, Okla.
