Obituary of MILDRED MABLE HEYMAN
Mildred Mable Heyman, 87, Burns, died March 9, 2000, at Marion.

Born Oct. 12, 1912, at Burns, she was the daughter of the late Grover and Mable McIntosh.

She was married to Lester Samuel Heyman Oct. 7, 1929. The couple had two children, Betty Ruth and Jack. 

Her active and productive lifetime was spent working at various jobs and helping others. She and her husband ran a gasoline station and also a restaurant in Burns.

She also helped raise two grandchildren, Phoebe and Richard. Later in life she was a baby sitter for great-grandchildren, the children of Steve and Phoebe Janzen.

She and her husband, "Bud," were married more than 65 years, living at Burns. 
Following his death she moved to Marion to live with her granddaughter, Phoebe, and her family for the past three years. The final 22 months were spent in nursing home care.

Survivors include daughter Betty Ruth Scully of Oak Grove, Mo., and son Jack L. Heyman of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Burns United Methodist Church with the Rev. Brad Hanson officiating.

Janet Post was the vocal soloist and Sandy Heyman the organist.

Casket bearers were Steve Janzen, Richard Heyman, Mike Scully, Ron Scully, Brett Heyman, and Bart Heyman.

A memorial fund has been established in her name with the Heyman Historical Society.
Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery, Burns.
