SCHMIDT and his wife Hermine BECKER, dates/places when they died and what cemetery they are buried in. David was born on 15 April 1863 in Russia and Hermine was born in 1883/1884 in Russia. They are listed in the 1900, through 1930 census as living in the West Branch Township, Marion County, Kansas. The census show that David A. SCHMIDT immigrated in 1874. He was living in Marion County by 1885 when his son Andrew was born. Don’t know if he came directly to Marion County or not. Their children were: Andrew Becker SCHMIDT (born 12 Oct. 1885 in Marion County, Kansas and died 22 Feb. 1969 in Tucson, Arizona) Gertrude SCHMIDT (born 8 Jan. 1890 and died Aug 1978) Maria SCHMIDT (Born March 1894) Hermine (Mina) SCHMIDT (13 Feb 1899 and died Oct. 1993) Arnold T. SCHMIDT (born 15 Nov. 1903 and died 23 Nov. 1986) I believe David's parents were Andreas and Eva SCHMIDT and Hermine's parents were Henry and Maria BECKER but am not for certain. A 17 year old David SMITH was listed in the 1880 census for Branch Township, Marion County, Kansas as the son of Andreas and Eva SMITH. The age is right and the census taker may have entered SMITH instead of SCHMIDT for the last name. --------------------------------------- HOLCOMB Carolyn Gutzmer (jojogutzmer@mchsi.com) 17 June 2006 I am looking for information about Elisha Judson HOLCOMB and his sons, Albert and George HOLCOMB .
