I have a little information on descendants of four of Herman's siblings, although I cannot attest to its reliability: 1] Fritz Steuck had three sons: Paul A., b 9 Feb 1908 in Mo., d 19 Jan. 1990 in Mo.; William, b 30 May 1914 in Mo., d Mar 1985 in Mo., m to Mary DEEM; Albert H. 23. Jo Gottman 12 Feb 1998
My name is Jo Gottman and I am researching my husbands GOTTMAN(N) family. I found one of his ancestors in a Baptist Convention book listing his obituary. He was the pastor of the Blue Rapids Baptist Church. He was born July 10, 1856 to Christian and Charlotte Gottmann in Pennsylvania. His obit stated that he passed away October 23, 1899. This obit was in the Kansas Baptist Annual (1900) page 32. If you could help me find more information on this ancestor, I will be so happy. This Gottman(n) family is very elusive. Thanks, Jo.

    STAUSS, WOLFF
My ancestor was brother to Gustave Stauss who was one of the first settlers in Marysville, Marshall Co., KS. Gustave Stauss came from Germany with his wife Wilhelmenia Angel Engle in 1855, Gustave was B. 1825, his brother Vincent Stauss B. 1827 in Germany came w/his wife Anna Wolff, she was assumed to be the daughter of Carl Wolff and Gertrude wolff who showed on the American Ship Wabamo in August & Sept. 1857. My problem is that I cannot find Vincent Stauss in the 1860 Census anyplace. Since Gustave was in Marysville by 1860, I was wondering if there was anyone out there that could scout around in the indexes/census and find my Vincent and his #2 wife. Genevefa (Eve) Rapp Stauss. It's possible that Vincent Stauss and #1 Anna lived in Ks. in 1860, but I have not been able to discover this. They say they had all of their children in Iowa, the Davenport Scott Co. area and I have records of them there, but I just wonder if they didn't follow brother Gustave at first and then head back to Iowa. I do know that they left Iowa in 1867 after they married - Vincent & #2 Eve marr. Sept 1867 in Scott Co., Iowa. Anna must have died when she had my Gr. Grandfather Franklin Joseph Stauss B. 1865. I found records of Peter Wolff age 65 being in Vincent's household in 1870 in Marysville, KS. and I wonder if that would be Carl peter Wolff. I have land records where Peter Wolff owned land in Ks. Marysville, I just need to find Vincent in 1860, he might be in Gustave's household. Could anyone check this out for me. I know Vincent left Ks. again about 1972 after having Paul &* Joseph Stauss in Marysville...they headed bk to Davenport, Scott Co., ,Iowa....that family ended up in Paris, Logan Co., Arkansas where Vincent started the St. Joseph's Catholic Church. I would love to hear from anyone regarding these families.
