Miami County Obituaries 1880

Obituary of William Winn Elkinton. Information provided by Lorene Fort, fort@paola-online.net, 16 January 2001. (Reference: Miami Republican, 4 Jun 1880, p 1, column 1, paragraph 9)

"An old gentleman named Elkelton[sic], who resided about two miles southeast of New Lancaster, died last Friday morning and was buried in the New Lancaster cemetery on Saturday. He leaves a wife and quite a large number of children."

Additional Notes provided by Lorene Fort. William Winn Elkinton, born 14 August 1824 in Ohio; died 27 May 1880 in Miami township, Miami Co, Kansas. His parents were Joseph Elkinton and Sarah Cline. William married 23 March 1855 in Greene Co, Illinois to Margarette Elizabeth "Lizzie" Weisner, daughter of James Harvey Weisner and Mariettia "Martha" Evans.
