Query Surnames: McFarland, Rohrer

Date: 11 March 2003

Query: Loretta A. Rohrer (b IN) and Joseph H. McFarland (b PA) were married in Miami Co. Ks. and moved to Lincoln County Kansas in 1886. I need to know if the Retta A. Rohrer listed on the Miami County site in Kansas is my grandmother, and I want to trace her lineage. Since their marriage is reported on the site as being in Miami County, I wonder if they lived there for some time. She is also listed in the Lincoln County census as "Retti". They lived out their days in Lincoln County where my grandmother Edith Ray (McFarland) Gorton lived. Edith was born in Osawatomie, Kansas according to a news article, so Loretta and Joseph must have lived in or by there during this time, about June 15, 1885. These persons are my great-grandparents.

Charles Danes is my greatgrandfather. We had not a clue where he went untill he showed up on the 1920 census with Carrie. They lived in Osawatomie and worked at the Hospital. That is where they were when the census was taken.

Charles was born 08/30/1873 in Fremont, Dodge County, Neb. Carrie (? maiden name) died 05/02/1938 at the age of 68. I do not have a birth date however she was 3 yrs older then Charles.
