Query Surnames: McCoy

Date: 16 October 2011

Query: Death records for the McCoy family: McCoy, Ida Ann 128; McCoy, J. 129; McCoy, J. D. 179; McCoy, Julia A. 144; McCoy, Kizzie 113. They were all in the Fontana area, Osage Township, Miami County. All of these people are our direct relatives, though I believe the McCoy, J.D. listed above may actually be H.D. McCoy

The family represented above was Hiram D. McCoy (1826-1904), his wife Julia Ann Walter McCoy (1828-1895). And I believe the others are daughters who unfortunately died as young women: Kezia Cleo "Kizzie" (1869- 1887); Ida Ann (1857-1889); Clara Janetta (1853-death date unknown)…she may be the J McCoy listed above.

One grave that did not show up on your list is for my grandfather, Myron Long Lee. He was born May 11, 1905 in Kansas. He died July 4, 1930 in Belleview, Greenwood, Kansas in a train crash while looking for work. He was buried in Osawatomie, Miami, Kansas in 1930 on a date sometime near his death. My mother said he did not have a headstone on his grave and the cemetery keeps flooding. It sounds like he is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, but he doesn't show up on the online list.
