Topic: Lucinda Anne Ray Harbison
From: Jim Harbeson jim_h73701@yahoo.com
Date: Friday, December 29, 2000 12:07 PM

Lucinda Anne Ray was born in Kentucky in 1817 and died at or near Coffeyville,Ks. in 1917 at her daughters residence, a Mollie Fossenden(sp). She had been married to Limon Harbison and he was killed near Stillwell Kansas in 1864. I have been unsuccessful in finding any Fossendens in Kansas, much less Johnson County. I had contacted Kansas Vital Records but they had no record of her death. Probably due to either the spelling of the last name or she may have remarried. Any information on Lucinda and her children would be appreciated.

Topic: Marriages/funerals by Rev. Arthur Metcalf

Date: Wednesday, July 19, 2000 10:07 AM

Rev. Arthur Metcalf (b. 1864 Lincolnshire, England, d. 1933 El Paso, TX) was a Congregational minister, spouse Ida Miller, two children: Col. Frederic Arthur Metcalf, and Etta Louise Metcalf. Arthur was my great uncle. I know what happened to Frederic, but all I know about Etta is that she married Wayne K. Greene and moved to Oregon. I would appreciate any information anyone has on her descendants.

Both Arthur and Frederic were avid photographers, and I have several of their photo albums. In addition, I have ArthurŐs pastor book covering 1900 to 1910 containing his sermon subjects, the marriages and funerals he performed, and lists of his congregations. During this period, he served churches in the following cities:

Lake Linden, Kewenaw County, Michigan
Garret, Anderson County, Kansas
Independence, Montgomery County, Kansas
Des Moines, Des Moines County, Iowa
Webster City, Hamilton County, Iowa

Frederic graduated in the class of 1911 from Webster City High School, and I have found pictures of this class among the photo albums, as well as various buildings that may be of significance to local history of the places where they lived. I am still going over the albums.

Antrim W. Davis was listed in the 1880 census of montgomery Co. in the city of Independence as a Marshal together with his wife Samantha who's maiden name was Rea. they later moved to Cherryvale and must have remarried to a Mary E. as she signed the deed for the sale of that property in 1885 to a William Talbot. His son, Perry Davis married Ida Duncanin 1879, and his daughter, Anna M. Davis married Henry McMullenin 1881. I have no information on whatever happened to these ancestors of mine and will appreciate any help I can get. I am descended from Antrim's first son who never lived in Kansas as he went to Iowa instead and married there. His name was William Lafayette Davis.
