It also listed his wife, Sadie (Sadie Matilda TAYLOR), who said she was born in Kansas, and my mother as infant Eula (Eula Irene NOBLE). It did not list my Aunt Irene, nor my Uncle Don, either of which might have been born in the 1920s in Morris County. I hadn't heard of Uncle Don before I began these searches. He might have died as an infant in Morris County. I'll greatly appreciate any information. ----------------------------------------------- SCHWENDIG...SWENDIG...KLATT STEIGH...STEIG Lorna Marvin (lmarvin@starband.net) 22 May 2002 I am interested in any information regarding the above listed families. ----------------------------------------------- FONES...HARRIS Joe Carter (carter.joseph@worldnet.att.net) 3 May 2002 Samuel FONES (HARRIS) left Australia in 1898 to visit his brother James K. Kirby, (born in Kansas), and Irvin BAKER, (born in Kansas). If anyone can help me on this, I would be very grateful. I'm not sure that any of this side of the family are aware of the family that was left back in Illinois. What happened to George after Jonathan and Ollie divorced? ----------------------------------------------- GEISLER Andrea Storz (hehi63@aol.com) 2 March 2002 I checked the cemetery site for St. Johanes Cemetery at White City, Kansas and my maternal Grandmother and two of her step-children are not listed. My Grandmother was Wilhelmina GEISLER, who died December 7, 1915. I have a copy of my Grandmother's death certificate here and it shows she was buried at St. Johanes Cemetery, White City, Kansas. Also, my mother said her half-sister Elsie, who died in 1911 and half-brother Ernest, who died in 1912 were also buried there. The last time we visited the cemetery, their headstones were gone. We have no idea who or why they were removed. My mother said there were no evergreen trees there at the time of their deaths, and she theorized the tree grew too close to the stones and they were toppled. But why they were hauled away we don't know. These graves are towards one end of the cemetery, the furthest away from the road, and if I remember correctly, have oblong lines of cement around each grave. I understand the church records and cemetery records were lost when the church was struck by lightning and burned. My mother was born at "Coyote Ranch" which I guess they still call it, and all three of the people I mentioned died on the ranch. She attended the school which is across the road from the cemetery. Would I get death certificates for Elsie and Ernest from the county office or from the state? I have no dates other than the year of their deaths. ----------------------------------------------- CRESS Gene Foster (enegfoster@yahoo.com) 6 February 2002 George Cress-- My Great-Grandfather died at his home on Clarks Creek Apr 16 1887.
