Jacob and Catherine SELLMAN BEECHWOOD (name changed from BUCHHOLTZ in 1840s) and their children John, Barbara, Anthony, Charles, Victoria and William all raised families in Neosho County. The ones I don't know much about are Anthony and Victoria (John married Elizabeth KLEIN and moved back to Lewis County, NY. Barbara married George KARLESKINT and moved back to Bourbon County, Kansas. Charles married Mary MEEKS and later moved to Joplin, MO. William is my Great-Grandfather. He married Mary ALice BELL, daughter of John Thomas BELL and Louisa SAUNDERS, all of St. Paul, KS. William and Mary Alice moved to Coffeyville, Montgomery County, KS in 1909, with their family). Anthony died in a mill accident in 1882 at the age of32. He left behind a wife and baby, neither of whom I've identified yet. Victoria married a man named Frank BLAISE. She died at age 27 and left 3 children. Her oldest, Lydia married John DUMAS. After Cornelius was killed (possibly in a runaway wagon) Margaret moved to Iowa and at some point married James KAHLER. They settled in SE Kansas in the early 1870s or early 1880s. By 1900 they had moved across the state line into Indian Territory. They had several children, including Martha Mehaley, (married Bert PAYTON), Thursa Ann, William, John, Margaret Cordelia, (married William PAYTON), Irena, Izora, Sarah and others (not sure of names). James is buried at Williams Timberhill Cemetery near Welch, Oklahoma. I believe Mahalia is buried in SE Kansas. FORD...GUY Paul Fambrini (sylvpaul@ecentral.com) 11 March 1997 I learned recently that my Great-Great-Grandfather was William FORD. He obtained land in Neosho County through a Treaty with the Osage Indians in 1865. He lived in Erie and St. Paul for his entire life. I was told he lived in a house on the corner of Lincoln and Main in St. Paul. He and his wife, Lucy Cass FORD both died in this house sometime right after the turn of the century. I lived in Lawrence for seven years and am returning for a visit in the enod of March. I am planning to spend a day visiting St. Paul, Erie and possibly Parsons. My Grandfather was Elmer GUY, and he was born in Parsons. Elmer's father was James Mathews GUY. Anyway,to make a long story short, I would like to learn a little about this group of people before i visit Neosho County.
