Charles Diehl FIELDS, son of Ellerson and Mary Ann DIEHL FIELDS, was born in Grant Co., IN the 18th of February ,1849. When he was about 15 years old, he moved to Wisconsin with his parents and about four years later he preceded his parents to Kansas.He was a farmer in Blue Rapids, Marshall Co., Kansas in 1868 and it was there that he married Lucinda Victoria MORRIS, daughter of A. Joseph MORRIS and Ellen C. BUTCHER, on the 14th day of December 1873. She was 16 years of age.Lucinda Victoria was born in Bates Co., MO the 10th of February 1857.and before 1860 had moved to Ellis County, Texas with her parents.Lucinda's father died in 1870 and about 1871 her mother moved thefamily to Blue Rapids, Kansas. Her mother, Ellen C. BUTCHER MORRIS, moved to Havensville in 1887 and is buried there.Charles Diehl and Lucinda Victoria lived in Osage City, Noesho Rapidsand Horton before settling in Havensville by 1875. They lived on a farmjust east of town and he was in partnership with C.H. MILLER, in theMILLER & FIELDS MERCANTILE business in Havensville, Kansas.Their eight children were John Walter, Frederick Ephram, Estelle,Clarence, Albert and Floy Alice. A daughter, May, died at the age of 14months.Charles DIEHL FIELDS died 28 Jul 1934 in Gage, Ellis Co., OK. Lucinda Victoria MORRIS FIELDS died 25 Sep 1916 in Gage, Ellis Co., OK. They are both buried in Stillwater, Payne Co., OK.
