Ellerson FIELDS was born 17 Aug 1820 in Butcher's Valley, Hawkins Co.,TN, son of Judida FIELDS. At about the age of 13 yrs he moved with hismother, Judida, and his brothers & sister to Indiana. On the 10th ofMarch, 1842 in Jackson Co., IN he met and married Mary Ann DIEHL.They had 14 children, 11 of whom were born in IN. Around 1864 theEllerson FIELDS family moved to WI, residing there 3 yrs, and twin boysbeing born to them there. In 1868 they homesteaded land in Kansas. Adaughter, Mary Martha, was born in Silver Lake, Jackson Co., KS.Ellerson FIELDS died in Havensville, Pottawatomie Co.,KS, 23 May 1890.The persons in the picture:Back Row: L-R - Sons, Eli, Lewis, Hiram, John, Charles Diehl, Ephraim,Leander.Front Row:L-R- Daughter, Minerva, Ellerson FIELDS, wife, Mary AnnDIEHL FIELDS, and daughter, Mary Martha.
