Rev. Paul E. Carson

Rev. Paul E. Carson, 67, Mercer, Pa., a former Hutchinson minister, died at 5:40 p.m. Wednesday at the Bashline Hospital at Grove City, Pa., after a short illness.  He was pastor emeritus of the Bethany United Presbyterian Church, Mercer, Pa.  Born Aug. 21, 1907, in Indiana County, Pa., he married Edith Alice Jay June 5, 1934.  From 1944 until 1950, he was pastor of the Sixth Avenue United Presbyterian Church, 6^th and Elm.  The congregation moved to 700 East 25^th about five years ago, and the church was renamed Forest Park United Presbyterian Church.

He is survived by two daughters, two brothers, and three grandchildren.

Funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the church in Pennsylvania.  Burial will be in the Carpenter Cemetery in Springfield Township, Mercer County.  Friends may call 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Grace Cunningham Smith Funeral Home, Leechburg, Pa.
