He removed to Gray county, Kansas, where he held his residence at the time of his death. Ed, as he was known, was held in high esteem by his many friends in his western home and also at his old home. He leaves to mourn his loss, one brother Overton Hickman, and two sisters, Mrs. M. A. Chappell, and Mrs. F. S. Humiston, all of Hutchinson.

The funeral services were held at the home of J. E. Connor in Medford township, Reno Co., Thursday, June 23, at 10 a.m. The services were conducted by Rev. W. L. Hinshaw of Burrton, assisted by Rev. L. E. Fahrney. The remains were laid to rest in Cottonwood cemetery at Sterling.
