Mrs. Margaret Ellen Smith
Mrs. Margaret Ellen Smith, 81, died in St.
Elizabeths hospital at 6:35 p.m. Friday after a short illness. She lived at
815 North Washington.
She had lived here 38 years, was the widow of
Albert smith who died in 1946.
Mrs. Smith was born in Vernon county, Mo., Dec.
26, 1869. She was a member of the Christian church.
Survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Ernest
Stewart, Mrs. Ruth Lewis, Mrs. Glenn Williams, all of Hutchinson, and Mrs.
Dallas Horton Lubbock, Tex.; three sons, L. B. Smith, Plad, Mo., O. B.
Smith, Buffalo, Mo., and Loran, Oroville, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. W. N.
Jones, Waco, Mrs. L. L. Purinton, Alhambra, Calif., Mrs. C. E. Clore,
Herington, and Mrs. George Hayes, Independence, Mol.; a brother, Otha Fickes,
Buffalo, Wyo.; 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
