Marysue
Eulitz is transcribing a series of letters
written by John D. Moler and family, who settled
in Anderson County in May 1860. These letters, particularly the earlier
ones, give a good picture of why people unsettled their lives to come to Kansas
Territory, what they found, and what their day to day lives were like.
Many of the later letters were written during an epidemic, in which John lost
four siblings.
