Mildred Finnesy, 87, Plainville, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2010, at her grandchildren's, Leon and Margaret Plante's, home in Plainville.  She was born June 16, 1922, northeast of Plainville to Leonard and Edna (McCune) Carmichael. She was a graduate of Plainville High School.  She married Orville Dee Finnesy on Nov. 18, 1942, in Plainville. He preceded her in death Dec. 25, 1983. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Orville Dee Finnesy and wife, Vinita, Goodland; a sister, Cleota Oliva, Stockton; six grandchildren, Casey Rudd and wife, Leighton, Bucklin, Margaret Plante and husband, Leon, and Mark Hammerschmidt and fiance, Deanna Schultz, all of Plainville, Mona Allbee and husband, James, Edmond, Okla., Robbi Smith and husband, Kenneth, Goodwell, Okla., and Jennifer Stull and husband, Dustin, Concordia; 12 great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Hammerschmidt, on Sept. 29, 1988.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Plainville; burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Plainville.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, both at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, Plainville.
A Ladies Guild rosary will be at 3 p.m.. Thursday at the chapel.

Elsie "Margaret" Keith, 93, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010, at Rooks County Health Center, Plainville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Plainville; burial in Plainville City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, with family present from 6 to 8 p.m., and from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, both at Mosher-Kemp Family Funeral Home, 320 SW Second, Plainville, KS 67663, and from noon until time of service at the church.

5 Feb 2010 The Ponca City News (OK) Sarah Willie Sissel
Sarah Willie Sissel of Ponca City and long time resident of Enid, OK passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at the Sterling House in Ponca City.  She was 88.
Services for
Sarah will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Trout Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Lance, officiating and Pastor Charley Hudspeth, assisting.  Burial will then follow at the Fairfax Cemetery in Fairfax, OK.  The family will greet friends at Trout Funeral Home on Friday evening, February 5, 2010 from 6PM to 8PM.  Arrangements are under the direction of Trout Funeral Home & Crematory.
Sarah was born on March 9, 1921 to John James and Molena Caldrona (Waldroop) Rollins in Frey, Oklahoma.  She graduated from Fairfax High School in 1940.  Sarah married Paul T. Sissel on October 1, 1939 in Fairfax, OK.
She is survived by her children:  Dallas Paul Sissel and his wife Carol of Shawnee, KS; James Franklin Sissel and his wife Doris of Victoria, KS; Howard Eugene Sissel and his wife Ruth Ann of Ponca City, OK; Raymond Dale Sissel of Lefors, TX; and Sharon Paulette Scruggs of Drummond, OK; one brother Freelin "Curley" Rollins of Winfield, KS; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Paul T. Sissel; her parents; one daughter, Cheryl Renae Sissel; two sisters:  Lucy and Mary; and one brother Lonnie "Bud" Rollins.
Casketbearers will be her grandsons Brock Sissel, Brent Sissel, Steve Messick, Kent Merrill, Kevin Corr, and Jeff Neely.  Honorary casketbearers will be her granddaughters Valerie Souders, Debra Messick, Leslie Sissel, Daphine Banks, Ginger Merrill, Wendy Corr, Pam Neely and Paula Chrisman.

Janet M. Johnson, 72, Plainville, died Sunday, Jan. 24, 2010, at Hays Medical Center.  She was born Sept. 1, 1937, in Omaha, Neb., to John and Helen (Pulliam) Bussell.  She married Kenneth D. Johnson Sr. on June 23, 1956, in Omaha. He preceded her in death. She was a retired vice president of Bell Federal Credit Union, Omaha.
Survivors include a son, Dean, Plainville; a daughter, Christine Pierce, Phoenix; a sister, Delores Bedrosky, Omaha; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Olliff-Boeve Memorial Chapel, Phillipsburg; cremation was planned.
Friends can sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

27 Jan 2010 The Hays Daily News Andrew Terril Webster Granger
Andrew Terril Webster Granger, 30, Westminster, Colo., died Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, at his home.  He was born June 2, 1979, in Hutchinson to Terril and Lorna (Webster) Granger. He earned his GED and an associate's degree in business from the University of Phoenix in the process.  He was hired as an online advertising executive at the Denver Post and had been promoted again due to his expertise in online management.
Survivors include his wife, Santanette Braziel, of the home; a daughter, Sequoia Granger, of the home; a son, Michael-Eli Serjeant, of the home; two sisters, Raina Granger, Fort Collins, Colo., and Dana Cayen, Loveland, Colo.; and his father, Iola.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dec. 19, 2009.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kemp Family Funeral Chapel, 805 N. Cedar, Stockton, KS 67669; burial in Stockton Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the chapel.
Memorials are suggested to Andrew Granger Memorial Fund in care of the chapel.

Cynthia M. "Cindy" Brumitt Cox, 46, Plainville, died Sunday, Jan. 10, 2010, after a courageous battle with cancer at the University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City.  She was born May 2, 1963, in Plainville to Duane L. and Joyce "Jo" (Bennett) Brumitt. She was a 1981 graduate of Plainville High School and received a bachelor's degree in social work from Fort Hays State University.  She married Eric Cox on March 8, 2003, in Plainville. She was a nail tech for the Styling Studio, Plainville. She was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Derek Brumitt, Plainville; her daughter, Shanaya Brumitt, of the home; her mother, Plainville; a brother, Dan Cunningham, Plainville; and two sisters, Nancy Leikam, Plainville, and Brynda Hayes, Ellsworth.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the First Church of the Nazarene; burial in Plainville Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moore-Overlease Funeral Chapel, 409 S. Cochran, Plainville, KS 67663.
Memorials are suggested to Rooks County Cancer Council in care of the chapel.
