My grandmother, Margaret Blanche Matthews was born in Saline County, Kansas on May 15, 1878 and her parents were Paul Boyd Matthews and Annie Maria Thompson Matthews. Are there any records or does anyone have any information about this family? Annie Maria died in 1892 and was buried in Saline County presumably near Salina since that was the nearest town. The oldest son, John Matthews is also said to have attended Weslayan College there. In 1892, the family moved to California.Annie

Trying to find decendents of the Hauserman families of Clay , Davis (now Geary), Dickinson, and Saline counties. My maternal grandmother was Elpha Louisa "Stites" Hauserman and was married to Clarence Hauserman of Longford and Clifton, Kansas. His brothers and sisters in order of apparent birth are as follows: Emma (abt. 1877), Amale "Mollie" (abt. 1878), Albert F. (12/07/1880), Lewis (1, 06, 1883), Agnes (Feb of 1885), Oscar (Jan of 1888), Henry R. (Apr of 1890), Caroline "Carrie" (Oct of 1892), Nellie (Jul of 1894), then Clarence (12/27/1897), and possibly a Lillian (abt. 1913). Clarence's father was John Ludwig (1/21/1840). John's brothers and sisters are as follows in apparent order of birth. Fredrick (1829), August Martin (11/11/1831), then John Ludwig, Louis (5/27/1842), and Adolph (11/14/1848). In addition there was one sister and an additional brother. In what order they came I do not know but they did very much exist. I'm looking for any Heer family descendents who think they came from a Henry or John Henry Heer who came from Jo Daviess cty, IL after 1850 ( he served in the Mexican War) There are a lot of family members in the following states. I am looking for information about someone I believe may have been a resident of Saline County. The only information I have is that his name was Frank Stewart and he was probably born in the 1920's. He served in the US Army in Europe in the late 1940's. He had a sister that lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his father may have died in late !949. Mary Catherine (Mayme) Swisher was born in 1877 in Doniphan Co., Kansas the dau. of Zadok Swisher and Ella Dempsey. Mayme Swisher married William H. Tinkler 22 Oct 1894 in Saline Co., Kansas. A recent research trip to both these counties did not find any further data on this family. They apparently had children Fay E. and Kenneth Tinkler. They are not in the 1900 Kansas soundex. Hannibal B. WING was my great great granduncle born in NY and according to a witness to his will, lived in Salina for at least 35 years. He was a schoolmaster and had relatives in Newton, KS where he died in 1910. His will makes no mention of wife or children and gives the bulk of his estate to his sister in Oberlin, OH and his widowed sister-in-law and nephew in Newton. I am searching for information about my great-grandparents, Holm-her name was Louisa. She came from Sweden at age 5 or 6 with her sister, they settled somewhere near Lindsborg, Ks. I think her father was already here. She married Mr. Holm ( he had changed his name from a Swedish name) and they had 11 children, I think most of them have died.
