BLEITZ, Narrowly Escaped Being Shot Last Night J.J. BLEITZ came near being shot through the breast by a revolver bullet last evening, and is not yet able to tell what strange intuition prevented it. With two or three others he was busy in the undertaking rooms of DUNBAR and BLEITZ, and had picked up a small coffin and placed it on a work bench, almost instantly removing it to another part of the room, for no reason that he can tell. He had no sooner picked up the coffin to set it elsewhere when a bullet from a 38-caliber revolver crashed through a thin partition immediately in front of where he had been standing, and whistling close to the heads of others in the room was flattened out against the brick wall on the opposite side. Had BLEITZ been standing where he stood before the ball would have struck him full in the breast. The bullet was accidentally fired from a revolver of a man in the second hand store next door. ** Leap Year Guide to Wichita's Most Eligible Men AYER, Fred- Age 29 years;owns valuable real estate; fond of entertaining; good fellow; rather quiet and prefers lively girls; might take a lot of patience but a clever girl would probably win him.
