This file of some 100+ obituaries relates primarily to my husband’s Howard, Johnson, Mickle families from the Mulvane/Wichita area. However a few names from my family have been thrown in just to confuse you. Almost all of these were located via the Wichita Eagle obituary index. This wonderful index, provided by Bill Pennington, is a miracle and I owe a debt of gratitude to Bill and other researchers like him who help people like me find information from afar. Monroe Smith Cox 919-1999

Fifty friends joined for a memorial supper in celebration of the life of Monroe Cox on the evening of September 16, 1999 at the Wild Basin Lodge. In addition to reminiscing about his deep devotion to his wife and his business acumen, people share their stories about his famous frugality and his love of catching (but not eating) fish.

Monroe’s life reads like a Horatio Alger novel, the story of a man who survived the Dust Bowl, the Great Depression and the Second World War, and who achieved success in marriage and business by dint of his own perseverance and strength of character.

Monroe Cox was born in Bolivar, Missouri, on January 18, 1919, one of the six children of Luther and Meda Cox. The "dust bowl" brought this farming family to Kansas when Monroe was a boy so his father could work in the oil fields. He thought of his childhood as happy in spite of the hardship of those times. He had a positive perspective on his boyhood, being grateful that his father was able to provide for his large family. He went on to graduate from Augusta High School in Augusta, Kansas, in 1937.

Monroe joined the Army shortly after the U.S. entered WWII, early in 1942. He attained the rank of Regimental sergeant Major, the highest rank achievable by an enlisted man. Though he was trained for combat every six months, he was never shipped out of the country because there were so few men of his rank. He served with distinction for four years and two months before his Honorable Discharge in 1946.

He married his high school sweetheart, Earlene, while he was serving in the Army during World War II. They were married for about 40 years until her death from cancer in 1984. She was a graduate of Wichita State College and taught for a time before joining the family business. They were a devoted couple, and were partners in business as well as in marriage. They had one child, Gregory Monroe Cox.

After the Service, Monroe worked in the grocery business for 17 years in Kansas and also did some development construction, such as building a small shopping center. He moved the family to Colorado in 1963, bought land and rental properties, and became a real estate investor and developer, including the development of Meeker Park Estates. He and Earlene were active in local social activities, and Earlene served as president of the Hilltop Guild from 1971 to 1972.

Monroe was a member of the Church of Christ in Estes Park where a memorial service was held earlier. Interment was in Augusta, Kansas, where he was laid to rest beside his beloved wife. He is survived by his son Gregory, daughter-in-law Karen, grandson Dorian and his wife Trina.

Another of Allenspark’s colorful characters has passed into history. Monroe was modest about his accomplishments, but felt that he had lived his life in accordance with his own values of honesty, hard work, and kindness to his fellowmen.

He will be missed.

Edna Dunnell

Edna Josephine Dunnell, 91, of 820 E. 12^th died Friday, 10/04/1991, at the Winfield Rest Haven. She was born Dec. 24, 1889, in St. Louis MO., to William E. and Mary Florin Howard.

In 1909 she was married to John M. Dunnell in Oxford. He died in 1960. Mrs. Dunnell had lived in Winfield since 1963, moving here from Mulvane. She was a member of the Church of Christ and the Gardenaires.

Survivors include four sons, Lloyd and James of Udall, John of Northglenn, Colo., and Howard of Peck, four daughters, Marie Owen and Gloria Sickles of Woodland Park, Colo., Jean Bielby of Winfield, and Virginia Alley of Douglass; one sister, Helen Mayfield of Mulvane; 21 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.

Services were held today at 2:00 pm at the Senter-Smith Mortuary Chapel of Mulvane with burial in Mulvane Cemetery.

A memorial has been established in Mrs. Dunnell’s name with the American Heart Association.

He farmed near Mulvane for 67 years, retired 10 years ago and moved to Mulvane. He married Edna J. Howard at Oxford, Kan., Feb. 17, 1909. He was a member of Woodman Lodge and Workman Lodge.

Survivors include his wife; four sons, John R., 1416 N. Lorraine, Lloyd W. and James E., Udall, Kan., and Howard A., Mulvane; four daughters, Mrs. Marie J. Owen, Colorado Springs, Colo., Mrs. Jean M. Mr. Goldsberry died Wednesday afternoon at Wesley Hospital following a three-week illness. He was born Aug. 26, 1881, in Delphi, Ind. He came to Wichita in 1928 from Columbus, Kan.

He was a self- employed poultry man and a member of West Side Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Sunday Services Set for Former Wichita Resident:

Services will be held Sunday for a former resident of Wichita, Mrs. Pearl Mickle Goldsberry, 85, who died Thursday at the home of a daughter in Yates Center, Kan.

Mrs. Goldsberry was born Dec. 19, 1875, in Rose Hill, Kan., and had resided in several communities in the Wichita area. Her first husband, J.G. Mickle, died in 1929, and her second husband, George W. Goldsberry, died in 1956.

She was a member of West Side Evangelical United Brethren Church.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Ada L. Howard, Yates Center, Mrs. Estella F. Buzzi, Wichita, Miss Opal E. Goldsberry, Colorado Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Gladys T. Crist, Dallas, Tex.; four sons, Ercel Mickle, Augusta, Kan., Ernest Mickle, Fort Smith, Ark., Virgil C. Mickle, Enid, Okla., and Sidney L. Mickle, West Islip, N.Y.: four sisters, Mrs. Mary Lehr, Augusta, Mrs. Myrtle Swindell, Wichita, Mrs. Gertrude Jones, Rose Hill, and Mrs. Grace Davis, Wichita; a brother, Gilbert Johnson, Wichita; 21 grandchildren, two step-daughters and four stepsons.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. in West Side EUB Church, 2303 S. Exposition, Burial will be in Littleton Cemetery, Mulvane.

Albert N. Howard, 70, Drops Dead While Attending Sale Near Derby

Heart Attack Fatal

Albert N. Howard, 70, pioneer farmer and stockman of Mulvane, dropped dead while attending the Archie Adams auction sale a half mile south of Derby Thursday afternoon. Death was attributed to a heart attack.

A native of Highland, Ill., Mr. Howard came to Kansas in 1883, with his parents, the late Mr. And Mrs. George Howard, and settled near Mulvane. He was married to Mrs. Lillie Taylor in 1892.

For many years Mr. Howard was prominent in the breeding of Holstein cattle, and his reputation for raising fine cattle was known far and wide. The Howard farm is located five and one-half miles southeast of Mulvane. In addition, he owned and operated a threshing outfit in his community, as his father did before him.

Mr. Howard was a member of the A.O.U.W. and the Bethel Brethren church.

Surviving are three sons, Clifford and Cecil of Mulvane, and Harry L., of Bonners Ferry, Ida.; two step-daughters, Jennie M. Kessinger of 2107 South Water, Wichita, and Mrs. George S. Smyser [sic] of Mulvane; three brothers, W.E., Charles and Roy of Mulvane, and two sisters, Mrs. V.V. Cosner of Mulvane and Mrs. Charles E. Keller of Douglass.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Hooton Mortuary of Mulvane.

Former Sheriff Of Sumner County Taken by Death

A former sheriff of Sumner County, Charles E. Howard, 78, died Wednesday night at a local hospital. Mr. Howard served two two-year terms as undersheriff of Sumner County and then was elected sheriff for two terms. He was the sheriff of that county during the trial of George Neff, wealthy Perth farmer, who was convicted in the spring of 1949 of murdering his brother-in-law, Kenneth Wynn, in December, 1947.

He was born July 30, 1879, in Madison County, Ill., and had lived practically all his life in Mulvane. He was a member of the Lions club at Wellington, and had been retired for the past five years.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby, Winfield, Kan.; three daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Skinner, 302 S. Chautauqua; Mrs. Elmer Rollins, Winfield; and Mrs. Claude Reynolds, Topeka; one brother, Roy, Dexter, Kan.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Cosner, Mulvane; six grandchildren and one-great-grandchild.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Gordon Mortuary, but funeral services will be held Saturday in Mulvane.

Clifford Albert Howard, son of Albert and Lilly Smith Howard, was born in Mulvane, January 7, 1894, and died at Greenwood Community Hospital in Eureka, January 30, 1974.

He was married to Ethel Bartholomew, May 26, 1916, at Newton. Mr. Howard was a farmer and stockman and had lived in the Neal-Toronto communities for the past 27 years. He was baptized at the Brethern Church. He was an active member of the Toronto Masonic Lodge.

Those who survive are his wife, Ethel, of the home; three sons, Floyd of Neal, Clifford O. of Independence, and Wayne of Augusta, one brother Harry Howard, of Yates Center, five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. His parents, one son, Herbert, one brother, and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held from Campbell Funeral Home February 1. Rev. H.F. Schaechlele was the officiating clergyman. Interment was in Mulvane Cemetery at Mulvane.

Mrs. Howard was born in Mulvane, Kan., and was a teacher. She moved to Arizona in 1981 from Kansas.

Mrs. Howard is survived by a daughter, Peggy Roesler of Sun City and two grandchildren.

Ethel Florence Howard, age 103, of Neodesha, died Thursday, May 20, 1993, at Mercy Hospital in Independence. She was a former resident of Mulvane.

Ethel was born April 22, 1890 in Quincy, Ill, the daughter of Gideon Bartholomew and Eva (Shull) Bartholomew. She moved to a farm southeast of Mulvane with her family as a child. She attended school in Mulvane and graduated from Mulvane High School in 1911. She attended Emporia State College. She taught school at the Star Rural School near Mulvane. She later taught at Mulvane Elementary School. In 1917 she was united in marriage to Clifford Howard at Mulvane. They lived in Mulvane and later moved to Neal. He preceded her in death in 1974.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include two sons, Orene Howard of Neodesha and Wayne Howard of Garfield, Ark.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two sons, Herbert and Floyd.

Funeral services were held Monday at the Mulvane United Methodist Church with Rev. John Hastings officiating. Interment followed at the Mulvane Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial remembrances to the American Heart Association. Contributions may be sent in care of Potts Chapel, P.O. Box 801, Independence, KS 67301, which was also in charge of arrangements.

Floyd Eldon Howard, 70, farmer and stockman, died Sunday, November 5, 1989. He was born October 24, 1919 in Mulvane, Gore Township, Sumner County, the son of Clifford A. and Ethel Bartholomew Howard.

He attended schools in Mulvane and graduated from Mulvane High School. He worked at Boeing in Wichita before joining the Army Air Force. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II for four years. He was an aircraft mechanic stationed in Australia and New Guinea. He came to Toronto after the war to farm and ranch with his parents.

The family moved southeast of Toronto where Floyd farmed and ranched with his father until constructitn [sic] of the Toronto Dam displaced them. Moving to Neal, Floyd and his father continued in the ranching partnership.

On May 26, 1958 he was married to Hettie Hayden in Miami, Okla. and they made their home in Neal.

He was a member of the Methodist Church, Woodson Lodge No. 121 A.F. & A.M., Toronto, and Toronto American Legion Post 325, and National, Kansas and Greenwood County Cattlemen’s associations.

Survivors are his wife, Hettie, of the home, his mother, Ethel Howard, Mulvane, two brothers and their wives, Wayne and Mary Howard, Garfield, Ark., and Orene and Peggy Howard Independence, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert, who died in childhood, and his father in 1974.

Funeral services were held at the Campbell Funeral Home at 11 am., Wednesday, November 8, 1989 with Rev. Bruce Gass officiating.

Interment was in Mulvane Cemetery, Mulvane.

A memorial has been established in his name to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Glenn Eldon Howard, 31, Andrews, Tex., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mulvane Methodist Church. Mr. Howard was killed in an auto accident near Andrews Monday.

Officiating at funeral services will be the Rev. Clayton Lehman, West Side Evangelical United Brethren Church, and the Rev. Robert Haines, Mulvane Methodist Church.

Mr. Howard was born Dec. 17, 1925, at Mulvane. He moved to Andrews from Yates Center, Kan., one year ago. He was a World War II veteran and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars. At Andrews, he was an oil well driller.

He married Shirley Crouse on Dec. 14, 1953, at McLouth, Kan.

Funeral services for John Howard, 60, of Mulvane, who died Friday at St. Francis Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Mulvane Methodist Church.

The Rev. D.N. McAllister, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in Mulvane Cemetery with the Masonic Lodge in charge of graveside services.

Mr. Howard, who had been in poor health for two years, was born Oct. 18, 1895, on a farm near Mulvane. He was a stockman and farmer.

He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Order of Eastern Star and the American Legion Post at Mulvane and the Wichita Consistory. Mr. Howard was married to Mona D. Whitted Dec. 4, 1926, in Wichita. Mrs. Howard died Sept. 10, 1954.

Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Julia Arnold of Mulvane, Mrs. Jessie Kessinger of 2212 S. Washington and Miss Estella Howard of Winfield, Kan.; and two brothers, George L. of Coffeyville, Kan., and Fred of Douglass, Kan.

Born in Iowa, Mrs. Howard moved to the community with her husband, the late Albert N. Howard, in 1891. She had been a member of the Bethel Brethren church since 1894.

Mrs. Howard had been ill for two years. She was born Dec. 1, 1869, at Highland, Ill. She was married to William E. Howard, a farmer, Oct. 25, 1888, at Highland. He died Nov. 26, 1945.

Mrs. Howard moved to Mulvane from Highland in 1893. She was a member of First Brethren Church, Mulvane.

Survivors besides her son include two daughters, Mrs. John Dunnell, Mulvane, and Mrs. Robert Mayfield, Rt. 1, Mulvane; a half sister, Mrs. Ella Geppart, St. Louis, Mo.; a half brother, Jac Geppart, Highland; 25 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Howard, Mary LaVon, 88, formerly of Dexter and Mulvane, former music teacher and City of Dexter mayor, died Wednesday, July 19, 2000. Service 10 a.m. Saturday, Dexter (Kan.) Cemetery.

Ms. Howard attended Mulvane area schools and graduated from Mulvane High School in 1931. She attended Friends University for three years before moving to New York. She then moved back to Wichita and graduated from Friends University in 1937, where she was one of the first members of the Singing Quakers. After graduating she moved to Texas, where she taught music for four years.

She was a member of the Mulvane United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.

Oliver Howard, 59, of 341 N. Ash, died at Wesley Hospital Sunday morning. Mr. Howard was born in Highland, Ill., July 8, 1895, and moved to Wichita in 1941.

He is survived by his wife. Lillie, of the home; four sons, Harold, Oklahoma City; Donald, Derby, Kan., Jerold, 3332 N. Ash, and Claude, 2637 N. Green; two daughters, Mrs. Bertha Sprague, 2447 S. Hydraulic, and Mrs. Doris Blurton, 658 Kansas Court; his mother, Mary, Mulvane, Kan.; one brother, Walter, 1513 Laura; and two sisters, Mrs. Hellan Mayfield and Mrs. Edna Dunnell, both of Mulvane.

Mr. Howard was a member of College Hill Methodist Church. Funeral services by Gordon Mortuary will be announced.

Born in Bloomingdale, Ind., May 17, 1881, Mr. Kersey came to Mulvane as a youth and farmed near here until his death. He was married Jan. 29, 1902, to Myrtle M. Cheatham of Mulvane.

He was a board member of the Mulvane Methodist Church, a member of Masonic Lodge No. 201, AF & AM, Wichita Consistory, Mulvane Civic Club, Mulvane Saddle Club and the Modern Woodsmen.

Marie M. Roberts Funeral Services Set for Wednesday

Funeral services for Mrs. Marie M. Roberts, 65, of 1758 S. Wichita, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Culbertson Mortuary. The Rev. LeRoy Bott, pastor of West Side EUB Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Littleton Cemetery, Mulvane. Mrs. Roberts died Saturday in a local hospital.

She was born at Macksville, Kan., on June 24, 1894. She came to Wichita from Mulvane in 1918. She was a member of West Side EUB Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Wilma Jean Roberts, 1027 S. Martinson; her mother, Mrs. Pearl Goldsberry, 3505 St. Louis; three sons, Charles L. Roberts, 1758 S. Wichita, Paul R. Smysor Services

Services for Bernice R. Smysor, 87, Lawrence, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren-McElwain Mortuary. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.

Mrs. Smysor died Friday, March 3, 2000, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She was born Aug. 27, 1912, in Peabody, the daughter of E.E. and Lucinda (Ledbetter) Wyssenbach. She had lived in Lawrence since 1962.

She graduated from Wichita State University with a bachelor’s degree in education and did graduate work at the University of Michigan and Kansas University. She taught in several school districts in Michigan. During World War II, she was a professional Girl Scout in the Wichita area. She worked for nine years as the assistant to the librarian at Babcock Math Library at KU.

She was a member of the Lawrence Music Club and the First Christian Church in Lawrence.

She married Francis G. Smysor on June 16, 1941, in Kingman. He died May 19, 1985.

Survivors include a son, Francis G. "Frank" Smysor, Lawrence; a daughter, Sharon Lindenmeyer, Ellsworth; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. today at the mortuary.

The family suggests memorial to the Kaw Valley Girl Scout Council or the Gideons, sent in care of the mortuary.

Services for Francis G. Smysor, 69, 1045 Wellington Rd., will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the First Christian Church. The Rev. James Adams will officiate. Military graveside services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.

Mr. Smysor, who died Sunday at Lawrence Memorial Hospital, was born July 7, 1915 in Mulvane. He had lived in Lawrence since 1962, moving here from Chelsea, Mich.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, a member of the First Christian Church, a member of the Dorsey-Liberty American Legion Post No. 14, Lawrence, and he had served as commander of the American Legion in Kingman.

Mr. Smysor was a printer and had been involved in printing since the age of 12. He was a foreman at Kansas Color Press for 16 years before retiring in 1979.

He is survived by his wife, Bernice, of the home; a son, Frances G. "Frank" Smysor, 743 Maine; a daughter, Sharon Lindenmeyer, Ellsworth; two brothers, Raymond L., Humble, Tex., and David G., Cherryvale; a sister, Beryl Powell, Riverton; and three grandchildren.

Mrs. Smysor was the wife of George Smysor, former publisher of The Mulvane News, and retired Mulvane postmaster. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, she came to Mulvane in 1892, and resided on farms here until her marriage in 1913. She worked with her husband on newspapers in Norwich and Protection before their connection with The Mulvane News. She was a member of the Mulvane Garden Club, the Mulvane Golden Age Club, and of the Mulvane Church of Christ.

Besides her widower she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Beryl Powell, of Galena, Kans.; three sons, Francis G., of Lawrence, Kans., Raymond L., of Corpus Christi, Texas., and David G., of Udall, Kans.; three brothers, Cliff A. Mrs. Titsworth was born in Wichita Aug. 7, 1931 and on Dec. 14, 1968 in that city married Ray Titsworth who survives. They came to Antelope Valley in 1972.

Mr. Warrender was born Nov. 12, 1883, at Mason City, Ill., and came to the Wichita area in 1931. He was a dairy farmer near Derby, moving to Wichita in 1947. He managed a local service station for some four years.

EARL YUST WAS DEVOTED TEACHER AND PERFORMER OF MUSIC

As the circuit-riding preacher pumped forth the hymn "Hard Times Shall Come No More" on the reed organ in the home of John and Elisa Yust in Sylvia, their son Earl sat transfixed.

On that day in 1902, 10-year-old Earl E. Yust "decided he would become a musician," said his youngest son, John, of St. Paul, Minn.

Mr. Yust did become a musician. He learned how to play the piano and organ from a sister-in-law, and by the age of 16, was teaching others how play. For 71 years, more than 50 years in Wichita, he continued to teach and play because "he just loved to play," John Yust said.

Mr. Yust, 93, of St. Paul and a former Wichitan, died Friday and was buried Wednesday.

Earl E. Yust was born on March 19, 1892, on a wheat farm near Sylvia in Reno County. After learning to play the piano and organ, he traveled throughout Reno and Stafford counties on a motorized bicycle and gave piano lessons in homes. After his graduation from high school and college, Mr. Yust studied for a year at New York's Juilliard School of Music.

In the mid-1920s, Mr. Yust came to Wichita and was a member of the music faculty at Wichita University for a short time, but he quit in order to enter into private teaching. For the next six decades, he combined teaching and performing.

An Earl Yust performance, said John Yust, was no ordinary concert. At the beginning of his performance, Mr. Yust would hand out a printed sheet that featured 60 classical selections. He then would ask the audience members to request the selections they wanted to hear, and he would play them from memory. ''I believe he knew 135 pieces by memory in the months just before he passed away," said his oldest son, David Yust, of Fort Collins, Colo.

Mr. Yust played many of those selections for members of Wichita's Downtown Optimist Club. As a charter member, he participated in the club's founding in 1933 and served as its pianist for 46 years. Mr. Yust's skill at the piano was such that he and his wife, Truly, whom he married on June 12, 1932 in Vallonia, Ind., once belonged to a bridge club, although neither played bridge.

That wasn't a problem, said John Yust, because his father played the piano and his mother cooked for the club.

Several of Mr. Yust's students won national and international acclaim. One of his students, Joe Banowetz, competed in the 1962 International Tchaikovsky Competition, the same competition which catapulted Van Cliburn to fame. Mr. Yust won more than 30 gold medals in recognition of his piano recordings.

After his wife's death in 1979, Mr. Yust didn't slow down, his two sons said. After he moved to St. Paul in August 1979 to live next door to John, he became involved with the Minneapolis Optimists and continued to perform and teach music.

''People in some other careers retire and hop in their campers to travel the country," said David Yust. "But I think in my father's case, music was just an ongoing thing."

In addition to his sons John and David Yust, Mr. Yust is survived by a daughter, Jane Yust-Khan of Wilmette, Ill.; a sister, Ruth E. of Cape Coral, Fla.; and six grandchildren.

Truly Yust, Once Kansas Mother of Year

Truly E. Yust, 75, a longtime Wichitan and retired teacher of Latin at Wichita Heights High, died Sunday.

She was named Kansas Mother of the Year for 1973. At the time of her death, she was president of the Kansas Mothers Association, a group that promotes the ideal of family life and the recognition of outstanding mothers throughout the state.

Born Truly Fosbrink in Vallonia, Ind., in 1904, she was married to Earl Yust, 1241 N. Emporia, who survives her. Mr. Yust is a pianist and taught privately in Wichita for many years. Mrs. Yust played the violin in what her husband called "the family orchestra."

Their daughter, Jane Yust Khan of Wilmette, Ill., is a cellist who teaches at a music center in Winnetka, Ill. A son, David E. Yust of Fort Collins, Colo., is a painter and teaches art at Colorado State University. Another son, John E. of St. Paul, Minn., is on leave from the Minnesota Historical Society while he studies for a master’s degree in architecture.

Mrs. Yust was on the faculty of Wichita Heights High from its opening in 1961 until her retirement. She taught Greek as well as Latin, and was sponsor of the school’s Classical League.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the First Presbyterian Church. Cochran Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Mothers Association, in care of Margaret Selfridge of United American State Bank.

Other survivors include Mrs. Yust’s brothers, Roy Fosbrink of Venice Gardens, Fla., Dr. Epharim Fosbrink of Syracuse, Ind., and Raleigh Fosbrink of West Lafayette, Ind.; and two sisters, Mrs. Kay Scholl of Laurel, Md., and Mrs. Anise Foster of Phoenix.
