She has studied piano music with Emil Liebling of Chicago, Jeanette Durno, of Chicago, and Harold Bauer, of New York City. Mr. Ades has studied music with Frank L. Phelp, of Chicago, Charles W. ALLISON, Mrs. James 1117 University Avenue. Before her marriage Mrs. Allison was Miss Emily Boardman Fowler of Livonia, N. Y. She was graduated from Genessee Wesleyan Seminary at Lima, N. Y., in 1887. She also has a diploma from the Chautauqua Scientific and Literary Course. She is prominent in affairs of West Wichita and is a member of Hypatia. The James Allison school was named for the late Mr. Allison. AMBROSE, Mr. and Mrs. R. D. 1455 Fairview Avenue. Before her marriage Mrs. Ambrose was Miss Grace Williams of Kansas City. The club and organizations with which she is affiliated are the Twentieth Century, Hypatia, and Eastern Star. Dr. Ambrose is a member of the Shrine Club. AMIDON, Colonel and Mrs. S. B. 1005 North Market Street. Mrs. Amidon was before her marriage, Miss Alice Noyes. She attended school at St. Mary's Hall in Burlington, N. J. Colonel Amidon was graduated in 1882 from the Geneva Normal School, and later attended Oberlin and Hiram Colleges. He is a charter member of the Wichita Club, a member of the Country Club, a Mason, Shriner and National Democratic committeeman from Kansas. He is vice-chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Colonel Amidon, who is the senior member of Amidon, Buckland, Hart and Porter, has the best private law library in the state of Kansas. Every year Colonel Amidon gives a dinner for the newsboys of Wichita. AMSBERRY, Mr. and Mrs. F. C. 228 South Erie Street. Before her marriage Mrs. Amsberry was Miss Hettie Arnold of Ellsworth. Before her marriage Mrs. Atkeson was Miss Olive Stearns of Springfield, Mo. It is interesting to know that her grandfather was one of the earliest governors of Illinois, and to his memory a monument is erected in the National Park at Quincy. Miss Olive Atkeson, their daughter, attended Fairmount College and was a member of Alpha Tau Sigma. ATTWATER, The Reverend and Mrs. Clarkson St. John's Episcopal Rectory. Before her marriage Mrs. Attwater was Miss Mary Cheney of Blue Rapids. She attended Bethany College and is a member of the Twentieth Century Club. She is diocesan president of the Woman's Auxiliary of the Episcopal Church. The Reverend Mr. Attwater attended Kansas University and is a Beta Theta Pi. He also attended the Seabury Divinity School. Julia, their daughter, is a sophomore at Kansas University; Paul, a high school senior; William a sophomore in high school, and Jane is in the fifth grade. AYERS, The Honorable and Mrs. Will A. Mrs. Ayers was before her marriage Miss Catherine Drumm. Mr. Ayres attended Friends University. He is a Mason and a member of the Knights of Pythias. W. 824 North Emporia Avenue. Before her marriage Mrs. Basham was Miss Katherine Genevieve Dailey. She is a Twentieth Century Club member; president of the High School Parent-Teacher Association and president of the Cathedral Parent- Teacher Association. Her especial interests are in the Cathedral parish, and in the study of vocal and piano music. Dr. Basham spent two years in a Paris hospital. He reads, writes and speaks four languages, and possesses one of the best libraries in the United States. He is a member of the Wichita Club, Press Club, is a Mason, Chief of Staff at the St. Francis hospital, a member of the American College of Surgeons, and of the Board of Governors of the State of Kansas. The six young sons of Dr. and Mrs. Basham are all very musically inclined, and with their mother can give programmes of unusual interest. David, the eldest, plays the flute; Francis and John are violinists; Charles plays the Irish harp and when older, James will play the saxophone and George the clarinet. BASS, Mrs. S. For the past thirty years she has served on the Board of the Children's Home. She is a member and past president of Hypatia, and is prominently identified with the activities of Trinity Church. Mr. Bird is a member of the Wichita Club. Margaret Cordelia Bird has been on the honor roll of the Horace Mann Intermediate school, and has studied music with Mrs. Ralph Brokaw.
