AMMI BRADFORD HYDE, professor of philology in the University of Denver, born at Oxford, N. Y, March 13, 1825, and ordained to the Methodist Episcopal ministry in 1850. He began teaching in 1846, and was one of the founders of the American Philological Association, and is a member of the American Oriental Society, besides various other learned bodies.
