Mildred C. Briery, 95, Hays, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2007, at Hays Medical Center.
She was born
Jan. 31, 1912, in Otis to John Henry and Leah (Kerbs) Schlegel. She graduated from Fort Hays Kansas State College in 1934. She married Howard Briery on May 25, 1941, in Otis. He preceded her in death on June 26, 1992. She was a former teacher at Hoxie High School. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, churches ladies club and the Garden Club, all of Hays.
Survivors include a son, John Howard Briery and wife, Kathleen, a brother, Carl Schlegel, a sister, Ruth Wiegand, and two grandchildren, Logan and Melissa Briery.
Services will be at
10 a.m. Tuesday at First Presbyterian Church; graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hoxie City Cemetery.
