Edith L. Carman, 104, of Selden, died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008, at the Sheridan County Hospital in the Long Term Care Unit, Hoxie, Kansas. She was born Aug. 2, 1904, northwest of Selden in Decatur County to William E. and Daisy (Dawson) Brainard.

She married Carol Carman on Sept. 12, 1920. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1975. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include a son, Stephen Carman, three daughters, Barbara Spurgeon, Carol Hill, and Theda McKee, 17 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Selden United Methodist Church; burial in Selden Cemetery.
