 U.S. NAVY VETERAN WWII:

Clyde A. Liester, 81, Hoxie, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2008, at his home. He was born Oct. 18, 1927, in Hoxie to Clyde M. and Wilma (Brown) Liester.

He married Iola McGuire on July 4, 1952, in Osborne. He was an engineering technician for Kansas Department of Transportation until retirement. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during World War II,

Survivors include his wife, of the home; two sons, Jerry and John, two daughters, Karla Lucas, and Julie Samuelson, two brothers, Richard, and Dan, a sister, Betty Treu, eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a grandson.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hoxie Cemetery.
