ROSENKRANS RITES HELD JUNE FIFTH
*Former County Sheriff Dies In Colorado*
Harm Rosenkrans, 80, former Sheridan County Sheriff and one of the area's pioneer citizens, died unexpectedly Thursday morning June 1, at Lamar Colorado. Mr. and Mrs. Rosenkrans had gone to Lamar to attend high school graduation exercises of a granddaughter, Nadine Rosenkrans, and to visit relatives and friends. Mr. Rosenkrans became ill May 29 and died three days later at the Lamar Hospital as the result of a heart ailment.

Funeral Services were conducted Monday afternoon at the Hoxie Presbyterian church by Rev. Todd MacDonald. Burial was at Hoxie.

Harm Rosenkrans was born on a farm in Decatur county Nov. 8, 1880, a son of Charles L. and Sarah (Wesby) Rosenkrans. The family moved to Sheridan County when he was a small child and he lived here throughout most of his life.

He married Ida Montgomery May 23, 1900. The couple observed their 61st wedding anniversary last month.

* *Mr. Rosenkrans was one of the area's well known farmers and stock men for many years. He served six terms as sheriff of Sheridan county, and was Republican county chairman for a number of years.

The family moved to Lamar in 1947 and Mr. Rosenkrans was employed there by the city water department until his retirement in 1955. They moved back to Hoxie in 1959.

Survivors include his wife Ida, one son Dorrance of Fillmore, Calif., one daughter, Mrs. J, Peary Lewis of Hoxie; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. C. B. Rosenkrans of Lamar; two sisters, Mrs. Viola Kerr of Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Mrs. Isabelle Kerr of Auburn, Wash.; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by one son, Clarence, one brother and three sisters.
