I have been searching for many months and for any descendants of my Grandfather Richard EGGLESTON's sister, Cynthia (EGGLESTON) COLLIER
NORTON. I've typed below what I do know of her son Emerson and his
wife in Smith Co., Kansas. My Grandfather Eggleston was the Osceola, Iowa City Marshall and Clarke Co., Iowa Sheriff when he was tragically killed on duty in the 22 Nov 1917 Osceola town fire & explosion; family lost touch. I have much of our family history/genealogy and 7 documented, proven lines of direct descent back to the Mayflower through my Great Grandfather Alpheus Eggleston and will gladly and freely share with these descendants if I could find them. All descendants of Cynthia (EGGLESTON) COLLIER (Collier her first marriage) NORTON (Norton her second marriage) are direct bloodline Mayflower descendants of Plymouth Governor William Bradford (two descents), John Alden (two descents), Pilgrim Elder William Brewster, William Mullins, Richard Warren, and Peter Brown.
Cynthia was born c1853, daughter of Alpheus EGGLESTON
(Alpheus b 4 Jul 1830 Portage Co. OH, d Osceola, IA 9 May 1905, bur. Maple Hill Cem.,and Mary BEUTELON, d. Osceola, Clarke Co., IA 15 May 1892, bur. Lewis
Cem). Cynthia is among the children (heirs) listed below who are on my Great Grandfather Alpheus EGGLESTON's estate papers. Cynthia married Jessie COLLIER 14 March 1871 (Jessie deceased a few years later) in Osceola, Clarke Co., IA,, Cynthia moving to Smith Co, KS. Cynthia remarried at some point to Hiram J. NORTON. Cynthia (born EGGLESTON) COLLIER NORTON (or family of), was living with her son Emerson COLLIER and his family (wife & son Jessie COLLIER b 1894 Kansas), brother-in-law James E. COLLIER on the 1880 Smith Co. KS Federal Census. Emerson living with wife and son in Smith Co. KS on
the 1895 Kansas State Census. By 1907, Cynthia (EGGLESTON) COLLIER NORTON was living in Tustin, Orange Co., CA.

If anyone has any information Cynthia (Eggleston) Collier Norton's son
Emerson, Emerson's son Jessie, or their families, please email Jeannie
W. (JWinter588@aol.com). Thank you so much.
Jeannie

Charlie BAKER was born December 17, 1878 in Warren County, Iowa, the only son of William Winfield and Elizabeth Jane [LANDON] BAKER. Charlie's parents also had three daughters. At the age of 12 years (abt. 1891) Charlie, with his parents, took a homestead near Smith Center, Smith County, Kansas. From there the family moved near Osawatomie. Anyone have info on this family, particularly about their time in Smith County, the homestead, when they might
have left, etc.?
