If you have research material and are willing to do lookups for this county, please email me. I would like to make Smith County a great GenWeb site.

Sorry-no lookups will not be done from this web site from books that are printed after 1920 unless written permission is given to me by the Author or Society.

Sorry, I DO NOT have any LOOKUPS OR SURNAMES besides what is on this web site.

I have several years of a diary kept by my Gr. Grandmother Elizabeth
Gentzler.  It dates from January 1901 and goes to 1915.  It lists lots
of births, deaths, and marriages.  I would be glad to look for names for
anyone.  She lived mainly in the Garfield area.

I have a school register (Prairie View School, Swan Township, I think) for the years 1892-1894.  It is hard to read in places. I would be happy to look up pupils for anyone interested. I also have my grandfather's day books from 1903-1940. There isn't much in there that would be of interest to anyone but immediate family, but he does occasionally mention funerals for friends around his township. I am happy to share if anyone is interested!

Smith County Research needs to be in the title, as I have a very high filter on my email!
