His son, my great grandfather did not get along with him and never spoke about him. My great grandfather, John Henry Brown was born July 25, 1893, died Dec 21, 1989 in Blue Springs, Missouri. Ancestry.com has him included in a family data collection giving him a birthplace of Green Bay, Brown County, Wisconsin, although he always claimed he was born in Kansas - either Hiawatha or Horton as was my great grandmother Hazel Kilmer. They both attended school in Horton. Hazel had 2 living sons, Eldon Louis and John Henry (whom we always called Jr.). On my great grandfather's WWI registration card he signed it Jr - which was the first indication that his father had the same name. The family never knew this. <br> We know his mother's name was Eva Jane Smith and now are sure his father's name was John Henry Brown. The discrepancy we are having is the fact that the "father" in the Ancestry.com family data sheet would have been 40, his mother 29 when my great grandfather was born (although they had a son named Emelyn who had a son named Emelyn that my father remembers). <br> Everything seems to work except the fact that we don't believe my great grandfather was born in Wisconsin. <br> Any help you may have concerning my great grandfather or his parents is greatly appreciated. <font color="#800000"><br> </font></font> <font color="#800000"> <a style="font-family: Arial;" href="mailto:jeffbrown@bresnan.net"> <font color="#800000" size="3">Jeff Brown<br><br></font></a><font face="Arial" size="2"></font></font><p class="EC_MsoNormal" align="center"> <font color="#800000"><font face="Arial" size="2"> <b><font face="Arial"> <a href="Queries.htm"> <font color="#800000">2005 and 2006 BROWN COUNTY QUERIES</font></a><br> <a href="Queries%202009.htm"><font color="#800000">2009 BROWN COUNTY QUERIES</font></a><br> <a href="Queries%202010.htm"> <font color="#800000">2010 BROWN COUNTY QUERIES</font></a></font></b><br> <font color="#800000" face="Arial"> <b><font face="Arial" size="3"> <a href="Queries%202011.htm"> 2011 BROWN COUNTY QUERIES</a></font></b></font></font></font></p> <hr> <font color="#800000"><font face="Arial" size="2"></font> </font></span> </font></font> <font color="#800000"> <span style="font-weight: 400;"> <font face="Times New Roman"> <p align="center"><a href="index.htm"><font color="#800000">Brown County Genealogical Society Home</font></a></p> </font><font face="Arial"> </font><p align="center"><font face="Arial">&nbsp; <a href="http://skyways.lib.ks.us/skysearch.html"> <font color="#800000" face="Times New Roman">Search all of Blue Skyways<br> Including KSGenWeb Project</font></a></font></p> <blockquote align="center"> <font face="Arial"> </font><blockquote align="center"> <font face="Arial"> </font><h5 align="center"><font face="Arial"><font face="Times New Roman"><a href="http://skyways.lib.ks.us/index.html"><img src="http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/images/skybttn.gif" alt="Blue Skyways" border="0" height="43" width="66"></a>&nbsp; <a href="http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/brown/index.html"> <font color="#800000">KSGenWeb - Brown County, Kansas </font> </a><a href="http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/index.html"><img src="http://skyways.lib.ks.us/genweb/images/kslogosm.gif" alt="KSGenWeb" border="0" height="76" width="89"></a></font></font></h5> <font face="Arial"> </font><p align="center"><font face="Arial"><img src="usgw-s4.gif" border="0" height="83" width="82"></font></p> <font face="Arial"> </font></blockquote> <font face="Arial"> </font></blockquote> </span> <font face="Arial"> <font face="Arial"> <font face="Arial"> </font></font></font></font></p><p><font color="#800000"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial">&nbsp;</font></font></font></font></p></div><font color="#800000"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"> </font></font></font></font></div> <font color="#800000"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"> </font></font></font></font></div> <font color="#800000"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"> </font></font></font></font></div></div> <font color="#800000"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"><font face="Arial"> </font></font></font></font></div> </div></body></html>
