I live in Minneapolis, Minnesota, but have been a grateful member of the Brown County Genealogical Society for a few years since you folks made some amazing discoveries for me--particularly concerning the marriage of my great aunt in the home of one John Bengston in Robinson in 1884. Now I have a couple other, and related, questions. I am wondering if you have in your files any photos of John BENGSTON and family and/or house. The John Bengston I am interested in had a prosperous farm in Robinson Township and was born in Hastveda Sweden in 1840 and then later moved to Hiawatha where he died in 1927--and is buried there. I did find one photograph, online, in the Annals of Brown County, p. 497, via Open library.com.

Relatedly (as they would be more likely to have pictures), I am wondering if there are any descendents still living in the area--or about whom you have information as to there whereabouts. I am a very distant relative (he was my great grandmother's brother), but my chief interest is that he was largely responsible, I believe, for bringing my grandfather Swan JOHNSON (as well as at least two of his siblings), over from Sweden. One of these, Nellie Johnson, was even married in his house in 1884 (which I only know thanks to you)! If there are relatives around who might be interested in communicating, perhaps you could tell me how I could reach them--or, so they not be bothered if they don't want to be, perhaps they could contact me, Dan Conrad, at danrad23@gmail.com.

Whetther or not you have anything that would be relevant to this request, I remain ever grateful for what you have done already for me and others.
Dan Conrad
5011 Newton Ave S
Minneapolis, MN 55419
danrad23@gmail.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
SEVIER
I am looking for information on death record, obit, a will or any other information on this person.
JOHN SEVIER
b. 1796 Knox, TN
d.1863 Hiawatha, Brown, Kansas
Thank you for your help.
B Cartwright - davaleec@aol.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MINNEMAN
Hello!
I am looking for any information on an ancestor of mine named Hugo Alfred MINNEMAN. He was born November 12, 1879 in Sunman, Indiana and died October 22, 1922 in Hiawatha, Kansas. He was married to a Rebecca Charlotte Meyer on November 2, 1902 in Carson, Kansas. I believe his wife was born there in Brown County on 12/14/1880.
Hugo moved to Kansas with his family in 1894 and they settled in Ottawa County. However, He somehow met and married his wife there in Brown County then came back to Ottawa County for awhile. Then he and Rebecca and their family moved back to Brown County sometime between 1910 and 1915. His WWI draft card lists him as a hardware salesman but I believe he also farmed. I was hoping there might be an obituary or something that would shed some light on his life there in Brown County.

Thank you!

Steve Minneman

seminneman@yahoo.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
HITE
Surname: HITE, David
Last known location: Mission Township, Brown County, Kansas in the 1885 State census. I believe his farm was near the current location of Hart cemetery just north of Padonia. This is based on the fact that the family names listed in the Hart Cemetery transcript correspond to the family names listed as neighbors of John Sevier in the 1860 census and as the neighbors of his sons, Moses and Jasper, in the 1875 census. One of Mose's infant daughters, Clarinda, died in 1881 and is buried in Hart Cemetery. John SEVIER died June 11, 1863. The only information I have says that he was buried on the family farm, but I am wondering if that corresponds to what became Hart Cemetery and that his old stone was missed when the cemetery was transcribed.
Thank you in advance for your help.
Tony Ryan
Descendent of John SEVIER
ANTHONY.M.RYAN@sargentlundy.com
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MORGAN
I am looking information on James Arthur MORGAN, my great-grandfather. Everything on here matches what we previously knew about James (his birth month and year, his father's birthplace - England, and his mother's birthplace - Iowa). This record places him in the home of Cornelius Fannen, who is listed as his uncle. Since his father's last name was Morgan, I believe that this may be an uncle on his mother's side, and Fannen might possibly be her maiden name. I have been unable to find any other records or information about Cornelius Fannen, who is listed on the above record as being a milkman. There is also a sister listed on this record, Stella I. Morgan. My great-grandfather named one of his daughters Stella, and gave another one the middle name of Irene, leading me to further conclude that this might be a record of my great-grandfather.

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.
