Lucille M. Cromwell, 83, of WaKeeney, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at theTrego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, in WaKeeney. She was born June 26, 1924, in Smith County to Amasa and Pearl Thelma (Baumann) Smith. She married William E. Cromwell on June 14, 1944, in Kensington. He preceded her in death Feb. 5, 2004. She was a long term care social activities director.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne Cromwell, James A. Cromwell, Carlton, and Nolan Cromwell, five daughters, Sharon Marsh, Mary Vogts, Korene Triplett, Darlene Tillitson, and Vae Nilhas, a brother, A.E. Smith, two sisters, Evelyn Smith, and Carolyn Underwood, 22 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant son, Kelvin Cromwell.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, WaKeeney; graveside services will be at 2 p.m. in Germantown Cemetery, Kensington.
